Roast my new landing page please - too plain?

I just launched https://www.iposweekly.com/.

Would love your feedback on the copy and design.

I like very minimalist newsletter landing pages like https://capitalminded.com/

Apparently they convert better than complicated ones

I think mine might be verging on too plain though. I'll probably add a picture of the first week's newsletter on a phone to the right of the signup box,

A simple logo / favicon probably wouldn't go amiss.

See #6 rule on the Medium article: Use accent borders to add color to a bland design

Basically add an accent border at top or bottom for standing out a little.

I'd also add an image or an illustration of something related to IPO. Like Zoom had a great IPO. If there's a picture regarding that would be great.

This is not necessary but humans like images more than text.

Thanks, that's a great tip. I will try it playing with that

It is a good idea to provide an example email.

Interestingly it can lower conversion rates as people 'get distracted' https://www.indiehackers.com/product/tldrnewsletter/how-i-grew-my-newsletter-to-130k-subs-in-20-months--M5WHZz_7XZQFKIKZzxs

But I'll definitely split test it at some point

I think I little design, and an animation would help. You message is clear and I subscribed because I want to know upcomming IPO's so that is good!
