Looks pretty good. I would use icons for the main buttons (Download for ios, Android, etc.) and reduce the space between each letter. The most important thing, replace the stock pictures (they don't add anything to the page) with screenshots of your application!

    1. 1

Ahhh that's a great callout! Will definitely replace out the stock images and add in the platform icons. Thank you :)

  2. 3

    Great job!

I would add the actual app store logos as this is what users will recognise.

    1. 1

Yup totally agree with that! @francomontengro mentioned it as well so i really need to get on it haha

    Hey Yahia,

The naked domain address that you pasted here does not resolve, I had to add www as a prefix to have the page loads.

I have a couple of suggestions.

    • Mainly, I think you can add more value through visuals by stating more sharply what differentiates your app from the existing market. For example, I thought that the incoming calls as alerts was pretty differentiating. To me, it would make better sense to display this on a visual app screen, rather than a list view.
    • It could be interesting/fun to better convey the problem / the feeling of getting into a stock at the wrong time.

I try to convey my honest impression with a couple of audio you can play on this Vero page here: https://www.vero.fm/page/recFkYRjL46rfGZba/

    Hopes that helps!

PS: if ever you want, I have a great friend ex-designer at Meta who would be ok to leave a design-focused roasting

    GO STOCK ALERT!

    1. 3

Dang the Vero is so cool

      1. 2

        Haha, thanks mate ^^
It originally stems from my laziness to leave written feedback 😅

    2. 2

Woah @ben_cotte, thank you for that. Yep totally agreed on changing up the visuals to show the differentiating features and also adding more of a customer journey feel to it (getting alerts on your stock vs missing out ahah).

Absolutely loved the Vero link too haha (first time i've heard of this service, it's dope). I noticed you are actually the creator of Vero so i'd love it if you added a auto transcribe feature to turn the audio into actionable text/bullet points (just a thought).

Definitely might take you up on that ex designer roasting at some point. Thanks a ton dude

        Hey Yahia,

        Great to hear!

Yeah, transcription is really high in the roadmap, we should work on this pretty soon!
By the way, if you want to use Vero yourself or just follow the project, you can get access from the landing -- https://www.vero.fm -- we need people like you 😍

Sure, ping me whenever you want, he is a rockstar! He sold an app to Facebook and stayed there for a couple of years.

I'm most impressed with your SEO! You rank in the top 5 for 'stock alerts'. That's incredible.

I'm curious how long you've been working on this project and creating content around it (blog + marketing etc).

You inspired me to create a roast me - I'm nervous haha.

    1. 2

      Thanks @IndyDevDan

Yup ahaha! We've been doing the SEO & ASO game for quite some time now and managed to "tweak" our way to the top. It's especially helpful since paid marketing doesn't work out for us (not for a lack of trying) nearly as well as organic searches.

Best of luck on the roast, i'm taking a look at it now!

      1. 1

Organic search is such a massive win! Great work there.

Hi! At this link https://www.figma.com/file/Bvs0ovKIJucRGpdUU2ymJQ/roast-for-stockalarm.io?node-id=0%3A1 I wrote what could be improved (texts, pictures, etc.). But most importantly showed how the updated page could look like

    1. 1

@leonix holy crap dude, that's insane that you just whipped this up quickly.

I'm totally going to make use of this, thank you so much!

      1. 1

I'm glad you liked it. Let me know if you have any questions.

From a quick glance, the homepage looks great, the sub pages have WAY too much space below the heading before the content.

Not sure why you've used the same template as the homepage (which has an image taking up the sapce I'm talking about).

    1. 1

Thanks a ton for the feedback, i totally see what you're talking about.

Will change up the page template to have less space :)

  8. 2

Absolutely love this landing page! It pretty much converted me, I know someone who this would be useful for, just bookmarked the site!

In terms of the UI itself, I just have one small critique regarding the footer. The navigation headers "About Stock Alarm", "Navigation" and "Downloads" don't line up exactly with the links underneath them due to the added left margin they have. I think it would look more streamlined if they are lined up so that the headers don't have a margin.

Overall, it looks like a great landing page and a fantastic product, wishing you the very best!

    1. 2

Wohooooo! Super happy to hear you have a friend who might use it, lmk if you want that Indie Hacker discount :)

On the navigation misalignment, yep totally see that now. Thanks!

  9. 2

Too much of White Spacing between pages, reduce that.
Color combination is bit dull, should be more energetic since its about giving you an alert... :)
Landing page copy can be better.

    1. 1

      Awesome feedback, thanks a ton!

  10. 1

Looks very good, message is clear.

    1. Consider making the main header about the problem that it solves. Basically swap the messages of the main header and sub header.
    2. ALL CAPITAL TEXT IS VERY HARD TO READ AND SLOWS YOU DOWN. BY A LOT. There's a reason why books are not printed that way. Use standard case in your headers.
    3. The main buttons - adding google/apple logos will make it familiar and understandable
    4. A more professional logo will make it look great
    5. "what our users think" could be a lot higher on the page.

Hey, this is a super nitpick, but the screenshot with the MSFT stock looks like it has the wrong aspect ratio. Everything is just squished vertically.

Secondly, what I noticed right away was how old the screenshot was. I have MSFT stock and I know it hasn't been $158 in years! It might be worth updating that screenshot so it's a little more current. :)

  12. 1

I actually really like the design! Maybe a little more about how it works would be useful!

By the way, I'm looking for feedback on DarkColors, a way to test your website color ideas in real time: https://www.darkcolors.digital/
