Roast my Pitch - My new product idea :)

Hi !

I want to start working on a new product :)

The idea is to do a super simple web app for upload an elevator pitch (an embed YouTube / Vimeo / Loom video or a link to a presentation with Google Slides or Pitch) to obtain reactions and feedback from the community...

The main problem here is that I don't know how to build a community around it and how get the first pitch uploads... I should trust in the launch day or I should build a quick landing page to build a mailing list?

Well, any feedback is welcomed :)

Thank you !

I find the idea interesting ! Maybe you could just start recording videos of yourself reacting to various startup elevators pitches, post them on Youtube/IH/Reddit to drum up interest in the product and generate traffic to your landing page.

      Nice approach Monique ! :)

The point is that I'm not very fluid in english (I'm from Spain) and create that kind of content could be a bit difficult... But it's a great idea !

Thank you for your answer !

Community build is build around sharing and value. so if you can provide some good value by : articels , videos , podcasts, facebook group , discord server.
this will allow potential partners to get to know you and understand how your product add value.

      Totally !

The thing is that I feel that it's pretty difficult to grow from 0 to 1 in community building... I don't know how to start. And my native language is spanish and content creation is harder xd

Thank you for your answer !

        Hey David.

Maybe try building upon the existing communities. I read about this approach in Traffic Secrets by Russel Brunson and I find it effective. Join Discords, Facebook groups, Slack communities etc. and start posting and engaging there. Then create a landing page and try to get feedback on your idea. Some people will leave feedback and some will maybe sign up, then take it from there.

You don't have to build a community from scratch all by yourself, it's rarely the case. Try to utilize the existing ones by providing value and engaging. Hope that helps.
