Roast my site!

I just launch the first version of my job board for roles in data and would be very grateful for any feedback!

I'm going to keep the details light to test the messaging/perceived value.

Thank you in advance!

    Hey Steve,

Overall great idea, here is what I like from the first look

    • You picked a great market, there is already a lot of demand for "data" positions, and the demand only gonna grow in the future.
    • According to google ads data, there are about 10K-100K monthly searches for only these 3 keywords - "data scientist jobs, data engineer jobs, data analyst jobs", if you pay attention to SEO, you can get a lot of traffic from google.
    • Looks like you are a data engineer and you picked a niche that's close to you. This is great since it will be easier for you to understand where your audience is hanging out, what they are looking for and how to get your job board in front of your audience.
    • I see you paid attention to small details like getting company logos from Clearbit, this is great, looks much nicer with logos :)

Here is what I will recommend to fix and pay more attention

    • Overall your front-end is very slow, even on my computer I feel like the site is hanging while I scroll, this creates a bad user experience
    • Your page speed is only 9 on mobile, which is very low. https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwaitwhatdoyoudo.com%2F&tab=mobile This will affect your SEO score, you need something like 90+ for mobile and web (see for example https://react.cafe that built on top of https://jboard.io has a score 90+ mobile and 99+ desktop )
    • To start getting traffic from SEO, you need to have pages with titles like "data analyst jobs", "data engineer jobs", "data scientist jobs"... While now you allow users to filter by that keywords, these are not separated pages and can't be ranked by search engines.
    • I would change your home page title to something that users are searching for to have the potential to rank on Google. For example "Jobs in data analytics, data engineering, data science and more ..". See for example the title of https://remoteok.io. While "Data Jobs Where You 𝑲𝒏𝒐𝒘 What You Will 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 Be Doing" sounds like a cool title, it's not that something that users search for so that SEO-friendly.

    Good luck with your project!
