Hi friends!
I know you all have lots of experience with websites, so I thought to utilize your
expertise here to refine my landing page
While I would love to hear your perspective on all aspects including design, I have concerns about the clarity of my message. So, I'm just asking for your feedback, primarily on the content.
Here are the four main questions I'd like your input on:
I've always struggled with copywriting and messaging, so I greatly value your feedback. Your insights will be beneficial. Thank you!
Hi Adam,
Really cool stuff! πͺ Here are my notes:
All in all, pretty clear and easy to understand. The copy seems alright to me, but I'm no expert copywriter myself. I usually just write something and then let ChatGPT make variations and then mix and match what I like - you might consider that approach and see if it helps you get copy you are more confident in!
Hope this is useful and best of luck! π
Uri
Wow, Uri, I sincerely appreciate the time you took to answer; I knew I made an excellent decision to ask here.
This is where I find most of the confusion: I offer "post-production service."
It doesn't mean much to people, it encapsulates many things.
For example, animation, editing, color correction, compositing, and 3D, and that could help different kinds of businesses; let's just take animation as an example. I can make a logo animation for, let's say, a construction company or animate an icon and export it as a Lottie file for your website, so I want to retain all potential work from companies who deal with the website.
I genuinely love to work with different kinds of businesses, so I don't want to write anything like "make your animation websites with us" as a tagline.
I hope I won't need to nitch down. That would make me bum down
but I'm figuring out that my point has yet to come across, at least not as crystal clear as I want it to be.
What you wrote shines a light on what I should focus on and improve, which I appreciate.
Happy I could be helpful!
I see, then maybe you can add to the "Moving Pictures / Pictures that Move You" section or as an FAQ a "use cases" kind of thing. You can say it's "post-production services" and then briefly list a few of the top use cases - that way for someone who is an expert the "post-production" will mean something, and for the less experienced there are use cases that can give a clear message of what type of stuff you do.
I think this together with some of the stuff I suggested above (regarding the flow of sections and showing work examples in the hero) will make stuff super clear within the first few seconds of browsing the page.
Thinking about it, maybe even moving the banner of companies you worked with up (in my imagined flow: hero -> "Moving Pictures / Pictures that Move You" -> companies banner -> "Animation Without Limitation" ...) can also help with credibility right from the get go. User sees what you do and for who, gets impressed, and then reads the how the service works.
Uri
Yes, uri, that is a super good idea.
I made some changes to the site now. Hopefully, it's more straightforward,
My next step is to show some work in the hero section, as you mentioned, and also make a new section that shows examples of what you can do with the service. It's a wise thing to add thanks.
Man, I had so many plans for the website. I have the 3D elements animated, and I envisioned that whenever you hover over them, they would play the animation, but even having the renders as webp, the site is slowish. I can't imagine adding a video on top.
Yes, the changes look great I think! I think this flow is much better for clarity!
Yeah it's tricky when stuff is heavy haha.. gotta optimize for them 3G users π But something short and sweet of your top work should do the trick. Just to give a taste!
Btw, another note: perhaps you should set overflow-x to hidden on the body element to prevent the appearance of the bottom scrollbar. Will be less janky when it doesn't appear and disappear as you scroll.
Yeah, thanks; I hope it will do the trick
About the overflow: Honestly, URI, I have no clue what you said. π I didn't do most of the WordPress elementor stuff. I'm holding myself back from moving to framer /webflow
Oh haha, I meant that (at least on my screen size) when stuff animates into the screen from the sides - I see a bottom scrollbar appearing and disappearing on the page - like to scroll from left to right because the page is now wider than the screen. That happens because the elements that are animated into the frame are extending the screen width. I don't use Wordpress but I think if you add custom CSS
body {overflow-x:hidden !important;}then it should fix it!Thanks Uri, ill check it out
It seems I'm a bit late to this post but, I hope I can still provide some value! I didn't fully understand what was being offered initially, but after I saw more of the site it became clear. I think the overall site design looks clean and well made, but I think a few tweaks on the copy side could help.
The biggest piece of advice I could give on writing copy is understanding why someone is trying to buy your service. Maybe they think it will help their brand image, engage people on their website. Once you find a reason they want to buy it will help writing copy a lot! One way you could find a theme for people buying is interviewing people who have bought. If you hear a lot of people saying similar reasons then you could position your service as a solution.
Just wanted to add I'm no professional copywriter, just wanted to add my 2 cents. Best of luck with your service!
Hi Adam,
This looks awesome! Great movement, and I'd like to share my immediate feedback from the perspective of a UX Designer, from a quick first glance:
The body copy in the scope cards is quite light in weight, making it hard to read, and doesn't match the body copy in the following section (Animation Without Limitation). I suggest making them match and using the one with a slightly heavier weight for readability (same for the body copy in the Let's Chat card!).
Not all of the FAQ have question marks and some grammar could be improved on a couple of them (What does limitless storage means --> What does limitless storage mean?) and (I am working with a team is that OK? --> I am working with a team, is that OK?) I know these are very subtle callouts, but I believe they are still important.
Overall, great work! Thank you for sharing π
Hi Dwoosty, I appreciate the effort, and I agree with you. These are essential things I totally missed. I appreciate you taking the time and pointing them out to me.
first of all, congratulations!!
here is my feedback (from a user perspective, not developer):
I would add that the website looks pretty!
Good luck!!
Thank you, Julia, for taking the time.
To expand on what you said
But like I said, I'm not a copywriter, and I struggle with it, I would love to get another opinion, what would you write there?
I love the site. Here are my quick takes:
The mobile experience isn't the best (e.g., the see pricing button gets covered up).
Your examples (which are awesome, btw) are probably your most powerful demonstration of value here. I'd maybe suggest pulling a few out of the video and embedding them as gifs. I hardly ever click on videos on websites, so I'd normally miss out on seeing all these awesome animations.
Thank you so much, Alfie, for taking the time I appreciate it.
Yes, you are dead on; I must have missed it. Initially, I wanted to play the work at the beginning in the BG, but I was afraid it would be too much for the audience to be bombarded with information.
You mentioned the phone. I'll look at it and see where the problem is; I must have missed it. Also, the phone metric Could be much better, according to Google. That is why I'm reluctant to add more elements(video in the BG and such).
I made a few adjustments since last. Hopefully, that will make it clearer.
Hey Adam,
Nice design work and well responsive for my tests.
My main and key issue would be your point 1) -> the offering isn't clear.
Hi Marisol, Thank you for taking the time. I appreciate it.
I want to home in on the problem. Could you elaborate on it? You don't understand what you are getting for the money you are paying essentially. ?
Hey, cool landing page!
Love the floating animations as you scroll down, I think it helps visualise what kind of animations you offer. Initially, I thought you were a video making company (like a short film) then with the 'scope' section it became clearer that you mean animated elements like interactive vectors.
I like that the pricing is very simple and straightforward, it's definitely distinguishable :)
I appreciate you taking the time, Thank you,
Your landing page has a terrific design that is both clean and current. Regarding your inquiries:
Yes, it is obvious that Submotion provides design and development services for online and mobile apps.
Distinguishing Submotion from typical Agencies: You might highlight what distinguishes Submotion from typical agencies more prominently. Mentioning your specialised emphasis, efficiency, or one-of-a-kind approach may be beneficial.
Understanding Service Function: While the "How It Works" section is useful, consider including a concise tagline or summary towards the top that describes your service in a sentence or two.
Plan Distinction: The plans are well-organized, however consider utilising icons or short descriptions to emphasise the differences.
Overall, your landing page is good, and little changes to messaging and visual cues could improve user comprehension even more. Excellent work!
I appreciate you taking the time; thank you,
I don't provide design or development,
Making the "How it Works section is a good idea. also writing a concise tagline,
is something other people also mention, so I'll think of a better one
again thank you
