Roast my travel app landing

https://www.mapmelon.com/

I want to relaunch the landing but I am not sure where to start with the changes.

I saw that a lot of people Sign in, but then don't use the account so I think it may not be clear what the app is about.

Can you roast it so I can improve it?
Ty!

    Hi, Sole
First off let me list things that I really like:

    • Video showcase
    • Dynamic animations
    • Testimonials
    • Really detailed FAQ section
    • Color pallet

    Things that could be improved:

    • Google Play, App Store, Product Hunt, and Travel Massive buttons are missing a tag, this is an issue because the link is not showed on hover and user can't right click to open in new tab
    • Footer links are opened in current tab, perhaps it would be better to use target _blank
    • It might be better to split images from the video section across the landing page in case some users choose to skip video

Overall it's a nice landing page, I think putting more screenshots from the app would make it more clear what the app is about. Good luck with the redesign.

      Hi malcodeman!

Thank you for enumerating positive and negative things haha this gaves me some hope...

      • About links (tag and target_), I'll repair them asap.
      • Add images to give another option than the video makes sense.

Thank you for your help :D

Like others have said, the biggest issue is that it's hard to know what you're business even does. For example, I believe it's about connecting travelers together?

If that's the case, I would make your tagline much more simple: "Social media for travellers and digital nomads". I stress including "digital nomad" in there, since it seems from the testimonials that a lot of customers are digital nomads.

Rather than using the word "coliving", I would maybe use "Find living space with others". Yes, it may be longer, but it's more descriptive.

Furthermore, your video is quite long. I would use that as a demonstration video lower down, and replace it with a much shorter video (less than 1 min) that showcases how to use the app.

It's also "long" in the literal sense, as it takes up a large amount of the space horizontally without a full screen option. This might annoy customers too, especially when the text in the video is quite small.

Lastly, I would not use a sideways scroll bar. I would use arrows instead for the carousel.

Overall, it's not the worst website I've seen, and could be made amazing with a few improvements! I also upvoted your product on producthunt

Speaking of feedback, I'd love your support on producthunt and feedback on a project I'm currently developing: https://twitter.com/TheRealEtch in the pinned tweet.

It's an API for programmers to connect AI to their apps.

    Good luck!

      Hi richardgao!

Thank you for all the extense feedback, I will take everything in consideration.
I like adding digital nomads and making a shorter version of the video and the arrows.

Thank you also for upvoting it in PH :)

About your app, I can't find the correct link (IE and Twitter one looks broken). Can you share it with me so I can take a proper look?

Hey! I should have clarified we have not launched yet haha.

The link to the website will go live once we launch.

In the meantime, you can follow my twitter or product page on here so you get the notification :)

          Perfect, thank you!

Yea, from the first look it is not clear what it is about.

If there are active users, maybe add some stats, like N number of communities, N number of people found coliving etc, show feedback from real people, like from tweets and etc. To make the page more alive.

Or provide more screenshots and clearer message about the app.

Here are my general feedback about the page:

    1. Page title is Index

    2. Hero section screenshots seem too small. I think it's better to give importance to screenshots than login form. Login can be a single button.

    3. Along with walkthrough video maybe also add feature highlights with screenshots. Some people may not take the step to play the video. With screenshots, they just scroll and see what the app is about.

Yess I was thinking on adding more/bigger screenshots and rethink the message.
I didn't thought about the stats or the Index title, that are totally musts :)

      Thank you akmal!
