Hello!
I am not good at building in public because I am a heavy procrastinator.
I can't spend 2 months drawing my project and building it in 3 weeks out of nowhere.
As an introvert, I go out of my comfort zone to ask you:
PLEASE ROAST MY WEB APP!!!
I know that the topic of my web application is no joke: Mental Health.
Meanwhile, I need that greasy feedback that urges you to throw your project in the garbage...and go back to procrastination.
Let's go fellow indiehacker!
P.S: No gloves needed ;)
Is there a hyperlink? we are lazy, that barcode is only good for RL
Sorry for the qr code, this is the hyperlink: https://gethayapp.com/
When you open the hyperlink on your computer browser, you will see the landing page.
When you open the hyperlink on your mobile phone browser, you will access to the web application.
Thanks for the feedback :)
I built a landing page roster here: https://5pe64jq3d0rf.trickle.host/. You may want to check it out.
WOW!
I will check it out for sure.
Thanks for your help!
It is appreciated :)
I really didn't understand the purpose of the app. Like - what were you trying to achieve, or how you were going to do it? The process felt quite vague / not put together well, if you know what I mean.
Here's a good question - how are you aiming to provide the solution, for the users, and what area of their lives / mental health are you trying to improve?
Also, on a side note, I wouldn't really care much about the UI, but rather, focus on the core problem solving part. It'd be nice if I could understand it, as in what you were trying to achieve. The 5 pillars of self-improvement? Was it more like a survey app, or were you trying to see the impact of the sound on the users' answers? Like some sort of scientific / psychological test that I am unaware of?
Thank you for the detailed feedback!
The purpose of the HAY web app is to give users positive feedback to make them happy.
Most mental health applications start a mini survey because they have to assess the user's emotional state on a level of 1 to 5 and end up with advice to guide the users in their mental state; and also, data charts to help users monitor their mental state.
HAY web app survey or checkup is a little bit longer because we looking at the causes and consequences of the user's mental state. HAY web app doesn't end with charts but rather a positive statement to achieve the goal of bringing or maintaining users in a state of happiness.
I implemented "chromotherapy" and "sound therapy" logic to bring users into a relaxed mind state. I thought it could help HAY web app to better achieve its goal: make or keep users happy.
This is a kind of pseudo-science but concerning how the mind works, we are still in uncharted territory.
Since you asked for a roast,
I think you could benefit much more by using a more methodical approach,
test - identify - solution
I have more of a general style guide. But hope this helps.
I appreciate your feedback because it helped me understand the true meaning of HAY web app and found its competition. It also helped me redesign the HAY web app to make it more understandable. You have been a great help to me. Thanks a lot :)
