I recently launched devreferral .
Would love your candid input on what I could improve about the landing page.
For now, the only product the website offerers is an ATS-compliant resume builder, that takes data from your LinkedIn and GitHub accounts and builds a dev resume .
I like the name of the site and the domain. Good domains like this are not easy to find these days, so good job!
When I first open the site, there is just so many things moving: the background sky is moving. The logos are moving. The people move. The texts move. It's very hard to understand what is going on. I understand animations are cool, but there is a thing called too much of a good thing. I think that applies here.
Especially when the cool effects are making the best, over the fold pitch area text copy difficult to read. The white paper plane thingsies behind white font text doesn't make a very pleasant or user friendly reading experience.
You need to decide whether you want people to watch an animation of paper planes moving around, or read your over the fold main pitch text. It's very hard to do both.
I don't like the "features" text using an underline. Underlined texts usually mean a clickable link, but this is just an underline without being a link. It unneeded and just creates UX confusion.
I do like the illustrations in the Features area. They look pretty and add some color to the page.
Please don't use a space character before exclamation points. It's "your dream company!" and not "your dream company !" Same goes with commas. "insight, thereby", not "insight , thereby"
I don't love all those horizontally scrolling things on the page.
And I don't really like the black wavy thing before the FAQs text. It's entirely unneeded and awkward looking. Usually less is more.
Speaking of less is more, there is no need for those on hover effects on the FAQ items. They are just awkward looking and do not add any value.
Clicking the Disclaimer in the footer opens an oddly working JavaScript popup thing, which I cannot scroll or select any text from.
First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to critically review my website ...
it means a lot to me!
I agree ... I think I went crazy with the animation! I've removed the
white paper plane thingsiesYes, I overlooked that ... I've removed the underline now.
True ! removed the unnecessary hover effects too.
Yepp! replaced that with a more graceful component that renders the disclaimer text.
Again, thanks a bunch for taking the time to review my website! I'll try to keep in mind, the points mentioned in the post, for future projects!
