Hi fellow Indiehackers!
I'm Dima and I run Webstaff.io, a productized service specializing in Shopify development. We're a team of 2, one developer and one salesperson (me).
I've been working as a PM/Sales for Shopify agencies for several years now so I have a good understanding in dealing with clients, devs, and designers and overall expert knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem. Tarlan (the developer) is a Front-End whiz but doesn't like dealing with clients so I think we make a good team.
I know that the market is crowded with agencies and dev freelancers but that doesn't scare me because that just proves that the demand is big and we just need to stand out more.
I plan to do that with this productized service and an extensive plan for outbound and inbound marketing.
I'd be grateful to hear your opinion on our offer, landing page, and price.
Also, what do you value most when working with a developer? Speed, quality, price, communication, etc?
Thanks in advance!
Hello Dima,
I think your website looks and feels just perfect except the Navbar's background is too transparent, while scrolling down your website, I didn't even notice when the navbar appeared.
I could see that you guys are only developing Shopify websites and not providing design, instead, I was able to locate (Design Bar) recommendation in your FAQ.
If I was about to start an e-commerce business, I'd probably choose a service that could provide both design and development. Perhaps you could communicate with Dmitrii and make a deal (partnership) with him and offer 2 tiers of pricing:
Hope this helps ;)
Appreceiate the feedback Julius!
Yes, offering design is definitely in the pipeline. Until now, all of our clients came to us with finished designs and also some designers and design agencies partner with us to outsource development. But the two tiers of pricing is what I was thinking about as well. Thanks!
For what it's worth, my take is that it'd be better to pitch your offer to 5-10 people via phone calls first, and then use the reactions and confusion points from those phone calls to figure out how to update the website.
You can go after people looking for services, and then need find to understand what they want, and then you can pitch them on your productized service.
I'm generally a proponent for starting high fidelity (i.e. phone calls) and then moving to high scale (i.e. landing pages and outbound emails) only after you've first seen how the reaction was in a high fidelity format.
If you just have a landing page and do outbound, it's really hard to tell what's not working if it doesn't work right away. If it does work right away, that's great of course. Whereas with phone calls (and my suggested path for you getting phone calls would be to apply to gigs where people are seeking contract/freelance devs) if your pitch isn't resonating, you have the chance to find out what you might need to tweak about your offer or messaging.
Hope that helps
Thanks for the input!
