Roast Number Nation & the Hacker Worthy Software Manifesto

Late yesterday evening, I published the first landing page for my project, Number Nation: https://numbernation.com/

Instead of making a traditional landing page, I decided to write a little manifesto about Hacker Worthy Software to tell the story of why I am building Number Nation and where I am heading with it. As I develop the application I will add screenshots and probably eventually move the manifesto to a sub page of the website, or to a blog.

If you are a business owner who code, is the landing compelling?

Well, being a business owner who codes, I don't hate this, but I don't know whether I love it, either.

The pitch itself is pretty good. You get to the point quickly and I pretty much agree with everything you are saying.

My main reasons why I think this is just alright instead of amazing are relating to the visuals. I like simple and minimal websites, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't look pleasing.

First of all, your color scheme is green upon green upon green. It's a bit dull. Secondly, the logo is odd and I don't know how it's relating to this product at all.

One way you could start to improve this is to add your photo. If you do a strong personal type pitch, it would help to know how you look like.

Another thing I would really like to see is some kind of screenshot of the app. You say you are working on an initial version. How about a sneak preview screenshot of it? An image tells more than thousand words. If the screenshot is already looking epic, that would be a very strong incentive for anyone to sign up.

Lastly, when ever you are pitching something about an early access, there should be some indication about the pricing. Even if I find your product interesting, I wouldn't be interested to join any kind of waiting list if the pricing is not in line what I want. And if there is no pricing information anywhere, I would normally just need to assume that this is probably going to be too expensive (generally speaking, no pricing information readily available typically means a high price).

I do like how you are clearly giving an estimate when this is going to be ready, though. That's very good.

But I don't like when there is no privacy policy related information, such as how you are going to use the data you ask from me.

And lastly, I very much dislike the caption of the button in that signup form, which contains a very NSFW word that starts with an F. I really don't understand why you would call the button like that.

Epic! That's some very good points. I'll keep working on it . Big thanks!
