Roast plz: figure out what to eat in restaurant or online order

Problem

For people who love eating out like me, when exploring new restaurant, I often have trouble figuring out what to eat in the menu.

  • What does the food look like?
  • What are the ingredients?
  • Does it taste good to me, or match my taste preference?

Current solution

  • Open yelp and swipe through > 20 photos. If I'm lucky, I pick the one that looks good and were reviewed by a few users. This is kinda hit or miss to me, and it only covers small part of menu
  • Ask waiter for some recommendation and hope that it tastes good to me. I tried this a few times and didn't enjoy the outcome (ex: they might recommend something cheesy which lots of people like, but not me). Maybe I'm on picky side of the spectrum.

My solution

  • A mobile app where you can take the picture of menu, it will show you photos, ingredients, reviews of each DISH on it.
  • You can easily skim through reviews, photos and check ingredient definition
  • After a few iteration of picking and reviewing, we can recommend you best dish to eat next time.
  • Not in the restaurant atm and need some inspiration? Open the feed and see what dish people are exploring nearby.

Thoughts?
