I have co-founded www.nutritioapp.com - a SaaS for nutrition professionals about 3 years ago and built it myself along with a good friend (we are both developers).
The problem we are facing is that we don't have enough users. We have about 5000 users who have tested the app in the past but only about 30 paying customers. We make about $600/month (enough to cover our expenses - Google Cloud servers + Sendgrid + invoicing + accounting - about $200).
Our conversion from trial to paid customers is pretty low. Maybe we are not reaching the right people or we are not convincing them to become paying customers.
Our approach was to do SEO and we have a lot of people visiting our website.
The prices are lower than our competition and we are always open to implement new features, to talk to our customers.
We have a chat on our website that encourages people to talk to us, we have a few emails sent during the 2 weeks free trial asking people to provide feedbck or to schedule a call with us.
We might do some Ads campaigns on Instagram, but we are not sure yet.
One of the problems is that most of the dietitians have their own way of working so our solution needs customization for everyone.
We are considering right now 3 approaches:
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Laurentiu,
One of the worst things you can do when you're not doing well is to spread your efforts even thinner. I'd like to take the opposite approach to how you see things, let's give a try :)
Congratulations!
You've created something of value - you've got people paying you money to keep using it!
If you found 30 people willing to pay, you can surely find 300 right?
What can you do? Here are some scattered, 30000 feet suggestions:
There's so many things you can do, the worst of all would be to shift your focus elsewhere.
If you'd like to hop on a chat and discuss this a bit further, I'm doing (free) 30-min chats with community members - https://calendly.com/jonathanoron
Cheers

Thank you very much Jonathan. I will follow your advice. I have scheduled a call with you.
Great :)
See you soon!
How did you do, any updates? :)
Yes, we kept working on our current target and things are getting better, we got more feedback and more clients.
