SaaS idea validation: Reddit posts to videos

A couple of weeks ago, while on vacation and mindlessly scrolling on Youtube on my couch, I noticed that there are a lot of short videos made from screenshots of Reddit posts. I checked a bit and it seems that people are making those manually, I instantly thought that this could be a nice SaaS.

I spent a couple of days implementing a proof of concept here you can check some examples of the output.

To explain a bit more what such a service could provide:
📸 Automatic screenshot capture of Reddit posts
🎧 Audio transformation of Reddit post text
📺 Creation of beautiful videos by mixing screenshots and audio

There are a lot more features that can be offered but I think this is the bare minimum to start.

To validate my idea, I started posting some videos created on Youtube and TikTok to see if they attract views. So far, the results have been promising, and it has encouraged me to push forward with this project.

To collect more feedback and interest, I also created a landing page where people can leave their email if they're interested in such a service. You can check it out at https://redditcuts.com.

Some questions I have for everyone:

  • Any thoughts or improvements on the idea?
  • Could this become a real business?
  • What should I do to validate my idea?

Thank you so much for your help! 🙏
