I've been working on a SaaS starter template based on React, Firebase and Stripe. I've seen a few starter templates out there based on self hosted backends (often require specialised paid hosting) and thought a version that's based on Firebase with it's acceptable free tier would be a great quick start for testing out ideas.
Yeah that sounds great! It doesn't feel like a paid product.. more a project, but maybe support is a fee for service?
Definitely not recurring. I'm looking to see how much value this can provide to your workflow as a maker, and if the gains you make in productivity are worth a small one time fee and optional ongoing support.
Yep i think its a good solid idea. One thing to think about - there are already generator repos of various configs in github that are free. so ensuring that you get paid would be an ongoing battle to establish value. or have i misunderstood your proposition?
Could you link me to a couple of those? Do they include billing, auth, privacy, gdpr, t's & c's and analytics?
not sure, but T&Cs is often a separate concern for devs, and many devs like to pick their own service providers. I support the templates I've seen are largely boilerplate patterns around auth, redux, etc.
I'm thinking of stuff like this: https://github.com/ryanjyost/react-spa-starter
Ultimately, it depends on whether people will want your specific configuration or they want to roll/mix in their own etc. definitely worth testing!
