SaaS trends to help build ahead of the curve.

Update:

Per my last post, I'm building a platform/community that gives insights into SaaS trends before they take off.

In lieu of the indie hacker spirit, I will be building this in public.

So far, I'm at 26 sign-ups which is exciting. It lets me know that there is at least an interest.

I'm currently deciding if I want to build a web scrapper from scratch or use a third-party API.

I'm going to need a lot of data so that part is key.

Right now I'm using Exploding Topics to research and Google Trends. Deciding whether or not I want to start this as a blog or newsletter or both.

If you have any feedback or suggestions on strategies for marketing, feel free to comment.

Newsletter makes sense from my perspective.

I'd want information coming to me as a user rather than having to visit your site for updates.

What sort of trends are you going to be tracking?

A newsletter will be sent out as well. I'm going to be tracking SaaS trends.

Hey, I believe exploding topics will be at least 3-4 months, if not 6 months late to any trend, by which time it will be too late to start building. I think you should add more data sources such as twitter to it.

      Yes. Twitter, YouTube, etc.

I'm looking to scrape as much data as possible.

Curious, why do you believe exploding topics will be late?

It's not very reliable for data that is less than 6 months old. For that period, I think it misses out on some trends, and puts things in as trends that aren't actually trends

What would you suggest? Even further than Twitter?

Parsehub or BroswAI are the best web scrapers IMO

Thanks Orlundo, I just joined your list. I'm about to launch my 2nd SAAS product and could use some tips.

      Thanks, man!

Would love to hear from you about what you would be looking for in a product like this!
