The goal of Safe Streaming is to provide a tool for big streaming services to hook into to automatically provide content guidance for consumers, for those that need it, without having to check (potentially biased) third-party websites.
I've gotten fairly strong feedback for the project, but I want a channel to share progress and gain additional insight as I progress.
This is the current state of the SaaS which includes a landing page, API, documentation (including postman), and aggregated in-depth data for 20k+ pieces of content.
If you are a developer and want to play feel free to try out the API.
I'll release an open-source react native app that consumes the API and will provide an example of how to use the API.
Furthermore, when I feel the pitch/product is strong enough I want to approach larger streaming sites like Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.
I've been working on an experimental landing page safestream[dot]info/why-for-netflix that could individually target such a big player, in this case, Netflix.
The content strategy would focus on issues that such companies have previously made and how this system could help mitigate the damage. One such event was the issues of season 1 of 13 reasons why in 2017 from Netflix, the backlash that came from that probably cost millions.
The pitch would be to become reduce the brand and financial damage if such mistakes were made due to a large company's inability to respond quickly to issues and customer concerns. Basically for streaming companies to be aware that many of their consumers have been through trauma, provide a solution for them, to be socially responsible.
Thank you for taking a look at my project, all feedback is welcome.
