SAM - Stop Annoying Me

I was watching anime at 2am. Three unskippable ads in a row. Then a popup. Then another. Switched to Chrome because Brave broke the site. More ads.

So I rage-built my own Chrome adblocker that weekend.

SAM (Stop Annoying Me) blocks ads, removes DOM elements, skips YouTube ads, and spoofs fingerprinting — canvas, WebGL, screen, audio.

No VC money. No team. Just me, a laptop, and genuine frustration at 2am.

SAM is completely free. If it saves your sanity, you can support it via donation — but no pressure. The goal was never money, it was just to make the internet less annoying.

Currently submitted to the Chrome Web Store. Still improving it.

The funny thing about products built from frustration is that the original problem is usually obvious.

The harder part is figuring out which annoyance people care enough about to change their behavior for.

Ads, tracking, popups, fingerprinting, YouTube interruptions... they're related, but not necessarily the same problem from a user's perspective.

I'd be curious which one is actually driving installs.

        That's exactly why I asked.

I think there's one implication of that answer that's easy to miss early on, but it's probably too much to unpack properly in a thread.

Happy to explain what I mean if it's useful. What's the best email to reach you on?
