SarafanIO — stay informed about next disaster

Hi, I'm a founder of SarafanIO.

Our just lost main jobs (in the most) and we started to force Sarafan development :-)

The main problem we trying to solve is existing information barriers. What if we got early information from China about new flu? Could we prepare better? Who knows. But we are exactly knows that regims like China will always try to hide their problems and this problems may affect ourself. There are a lot of peopeles involved so they can inform us about disaster. But they need guarantees of privacy to do that. What China government did first? They tried to catch all those how spreads information about coronavirus. You should protect such people to stay informed.

SarafanIO is a project aimed to provide the safest and private way to publish and consume information. It uses time-proven technologies like Ethereum, Tor, BitTorrent with known problems and advantages instead of relaying to super-new-and-unique solutions. We are providing a fully distributed solution that can not be controlled by anyone (include ourself). End-user will use standalone sarafan client to access Sarafan network content and it will be looking like a reddit or other feed-oriented social community.

There are three open-source products we want to deliver to open-source:

• Sarafan node — core component for content delivery network infrastructure
• Sarafan app — standalone client application for end-user with reddit-like interface
• Community engine — opensource platform (what reddit really lost) to organize your own "immortal" community site (it hidden or public net) which can be revived by anyone in new place with all it content available. It is also possible to run your own community copy locally

Another goal is to provide specification for sarafan content bundle format. This format can not contain any executable code and can be interpreted without arbitary binary execution. So it is a key difference to traditional web site where you receive source code that will be executed (you can disable it but you will loose some functionality) and you can loose your privacy because of that.

We are issuing SRFN token to gather funds for Sarafan client, node and community engine development. Client and node prototypes will be opensourced soon, in the middle of Q2 2020 (see whitepaper for details) so it is an early stage and there is a great discount for the token. Community engine sources and public installation will be available in the second half of 2020.

SRFN token is used for clearing between publishers and storage nodes. It is also used for awards to the publication authors (it is not restricted to help independent authors directly but using award you will also increase publication or comment lifetime).

ICO already started but with no marketing support before we will actually deploy apps and the whole network. If you want to invest on early stage you can do that by sending ether to the SRFN token contract address (you can find it in sources repository readme). You will receive amount of tokens based on current ICO stage (see whitepaper and contract sources for details).
