Yesterday I removed the loading quote from the homepage so the posts will load faster, and I upgraded Ember.js (the JS framework IH is built on) to the newest version.
Today I have a bunch of chores to do, a podcast episode to edit, and some bugs to fix. Hopefully I'll have some time to start working on revamping IH's global search bar!
Hey, can you please reconsider to have the quotes thing back on IH. I enjoyed it a lot.
There's still a little quote icon in the bottom-left of the screen right after the site loads, so you can always click on that to show the quote if you're in the mood to see it. EDIT: It's broken at the moment, but I'll fix it soonish.
Interesting idea. I'm super curious about viability on this one. I haven't seen any details at all aside from the phrase "crowdsourced software estimate" but I am wondering how you manage the skew for places like Ukraine, Phillipines, India. The cost of living is dramatically different so the estimate would be different. Unless you're focusing on hours? I jumped to price right away hehe.
Yup totally, no real way to deal with pricing differences, and thats the reason I am steering clear of dollars :)
I am going one step up from hours and using days as the smallest measure, and providing a 3-point estimation tool for the experts to provide a best case / worst case / most-likely case estimate and on per feature basis.

Yesterday I was driving interstate and had the chance to record some thoughts on branding/positioning for my first customer reach out. Getting the first few sentences to identify with the customer is important so I'm trying to see as many angles as I can.
