I launched a landing page roast tool earlier this month. I made my first few sales, but the "Brutal Roast" angle felt like a gimmick that wouldn't scale.
I realized founders don't want to pay to be insulted; they want to pay to stop losing revenue.
I've officially pivoted to Trust Leak Diagnostics. Instead of an insult, I'm delivering a 10-point roadmap based on 4 psychological pillars: Social Proof, Risk Reversal, Clarity, and Technical Authority.
Testing a new $9.50 price point (50% off launch week) to see if "Value-Added Diagnostics" converts better than "Roasts."

By popular demand, here is a Sample 10-Point Roadmap so you can see exactly what the diagnostic delivers: https://roastmylanding.vercel.app/roast/MGNuDDC4
This is a smart repositioning.
“Pay to get roasted” feels fun, but “pay to find trust leaks that cost revenue” feels much easier to justify.
The 4-pillar structure also makes it feel less subjective and more actionable.
One thing I’d be curious about:
are people responding more to the new framing because it feels more serious, or because the output is actually more concrete?
A before/after example could probably make the value click even faster.
Spot on, Wonsik! It's definitely the concreteness. A 'Roast' is a vibe; a 'Diagnostic' is a punch-list.
Here’s a live example of a full 10-point roadmap I just ran for a founder today: https://roastmylanding.vercel.app/roast/MGNuDDC4
Seeing the 'Risk Reversal' and 'Clarity' scores side-by-side usually makes the value click instantly.
That’s a solid pivot — “stop losing revenue” is way easier to justify paying for than “get roasted” 👍
The 4 pillars also make it feel structured, not subjective.
One thing that could make this even stronger:
→ show a quick before/after or example output
→ so people instantly see what they’re getting for $9.50
Right now the value is clear conceptually, but a concrete sample can push conversion.
Curious:
→ are people buying more from the new positioning yet, or still testing?
Also, I’m running a small project (Tokyo Lore) where we test tools like this with real builders and see what actually drives action vs just interest.
Since you’re moving toward diagnostics + revenue impact, this could be a strong fit.
Happy to share more if you’re interested 👍
Repositioning is still in the 'Heat Test' phase, but the conversations are much higher quality.
Great call on the sample—I just unlocked a full report here so people can see the depth before the paywall: https://roastmylanding.vercel.app/roast/MGNuDDC4
Tokyo Lore sounds interesting! I’m obsessed with the 'Diagnostics vs. Interest' gap right now. Definitely open to sharing more—how do you guys usually run those tests?
“Yeah that makes sense — better conversations is usually the first good signal 👍
Just checked the sample, that helps a lot. Way easier to see the value now.
On Tokyo Lore — it’s pretty simple:
→ small group of builders
→ they try the product + give structured feedback
→ we track what actually drives action (not just interest)
So things like:
→ do people actually pay
→ what part clicks
→ where they drop off
In your case, that ‘diagnostics vs interest’ gap is exactly what we’d be testing.
It’s a small paid entry ($19) + prize angle, but main value is the validation.
If you want, I can share the link 👍”
UPDATE: Thanks for the feedback on the pivot! Wonsik and Tokyolore mentioned needing a concrete sample.
I just manually unlocked a full 10-Point Roadmap for a startup I audited this morning so you guys can see the depth (Risk Reversal, Social Proof, etc.) without hitting the paywall.

I've got time for 2 more manual audits tonight if anyone wants to put their landing page through the "Trust Leak" stress test. Drop your link! 👇
