[Schoolnotes Portal] Roast my Website

So I've had this layout go through a few revisions, but because I'm a high school kid living on my parents' money, I haven't been able to check with a paid UX designer. I'd really appreciate any feedback you can give me, especially regarding navigation and usability! https://schoolnotes.xyz/

I like the idea! But after looking at just the landing page, I'm a little confused as to exactly what this product does (perhaps I'm the wrong user).

Is it meant for me to take notes better?

I can see there are some writers. Which courses are they taking notes for? How do I know if those courses would be relevant to me?

The talks at the bottom sound interesting, but I'm not sure how they relate to the rest of the page. Are these additional lectures on the course?

Is this site meant for a particular university?

Happy to give more targeted feedback on something, if you'd like 🙂

Sorry if it was unclear, the content is for year 11 and 12 students in Australia (where I'm based), and so not targeted at any particular institution. We have a syllabus which is used by all students in each state, so the content is applicable to anyone taking that subject.

As for the talks, they're mostly skills workshops for different subject areas (e.g. writing short responses for Studies of Religion exam questions). The aim is for guest speakers, usually teachers, to bring their experience in the subject to assist readers.

Each writer focuses on a particular subject area (e.g. Jackson is mainly sciences, Chloe is arts, Jesse is languages, Vishnu is bringing TAS, I focus on sciences and math) based on the subjects we currently take, but we all overlap and work on each other's posts (we have a blog post about the writing process).

Got it - thank you. I would think about how you could get some of these ideas across in the landing page itself - would help make a new user's onboarding faster and cleaner.

I've updated it, would you mind taking another look?
