Scratching my own itch: Building a precision health tracker for my 9 cats

Hey Indie Hackers! I am the primary caregiver for a household of 9 cats, and trying to manage their individual health metrics with standard pet care apps was a nightmare. Generic apps offer one-size-fits-all advice that simply does not work for highly analytical owners or multi-pet households. I needed hard data, not fluff.

To solve this, I spent the last few months coding PurrTrack from the ground up. It is a precision tracking mobile app designed for owners who want to take proactive and independent control of their pets' health. The platform allows users to log exact daily food intake, map custom caloric baselines directly against weight trends, and securely centralize holistic health records in one digital space.

I recently pivoted the app to an in-app purchase model and am currently navigating the shift from development into marketing. I'm excited to share the journey and learn from other founders navigating the mobile app space!

This is a brilliant observation. With a household of nine cats, standard health tracking just doesn't cut it. When you are managing senior cats or specific daily routines, a generic log isn't enough—you need absolute confidence that your daily interventions are actually working. The goal is to bridge the gap between generic industry advice and the actual reality of at-home care.

What I found interesting is that you're not competing on pet tracking—you're competing on the level of confidence owners have in the decisions they're making.

For people managing multiple pets or complex health needs, precision isn't just another feature. It changes what the product is actually helping them do.
