Over the last year, we noticed something changing very quickly:
People were no longer discovering products only through Google search.
They were asking ChatGPT.
Using Perplexity.
Exploring Gemini.
Reading AI Overviews.
And something became very obvious:
Search behavior is shifting from “finding links” to “getting answers.”
That changes how brands become visible online.
Traditional SEO still matters, but AI systems evaluate brands differently.
They look at:
citations
entity consistency
third-party mentions
structured information
topical relevance
trust across multiple sources
In other words:
AI visibility is becoming its own growth engine.
The problem is that most existing tools still measure the old internet:
rankings
backlinks
keywords
traffic
Very few tools help brands understand how they appear inside AI-generated answers.
That’s one of the reasons we started building Ansvisor.
Ansvisor is an open-source AI visibility platform designed to help brands monitor:
AI mentions
citations
prompt visibility
competitor presence
AI search performance
and share of voice across modern AI search ecosystems
We’re building this together with marketers, developers, SEO professionals, PR teams, and founders who are all trying to understand how AI search actually works.
One thing we’ve learned so far:
AI visibility behaves much more like a mix of SEO, PR, brand authority, and community trust than traditional search ever did.
We’re still early, but we believe this space will evolve into a completely new category over the next few years.
Would genuinely love feedback from the Indie Hackers community:
Are you already seeing traffic shifts from AI search?
Do you think GEO/AEO will become mainstream?
What signals do you believe AI systems trust most today?
