Search Console URL Inspection. What's the impact on my SEO?
I recently discovered via Search Console that a bunch of my pages weren't being indexed by Google.
When publishing pages / posts, do you always submit a manual URL inspection? If so, how long do you wait to do so?
What's the impact to page SEO if you don't do a manual submission?
If you have tips on how I can improve the rankings of my (relatively) new site, I'd love to hear them!
Google can be quick to detect a new URL on your site or sometimes Google takes it's sweet time (when it's the latter it's the bane of my existence).
It's pretty rare that I ever feel that Google needs to index a URL right away however I generally make it a habit of checking 3-5 days or so after publishing to make sure Google indexed the page and then I manually request if not.
The impact on your SEO is that it could take longer for Google to index your page and as a result, your page will not show in search results until it is indexed.
Your site does not have a ton of content (yet) but for feedback on your homepage there is a lot of text and users are generally very impatient and lose interest quickly, you also use jargon (theory of externalities for example) which I imagine the average layperson is not familiar with (or perhaps unintelligent folks like me aren't). I'd recommend simplifying the language and making a few super-important points that then entice visitors to move through your site to learn more about you and how to sign up.
Other than that, a crystal-clear understanding of your target customer and content that serves them and answers their questions is the best thing you can do.
