Searchable Transcripts + Built-In Messaging — What's Working, What's Not

Shipped two things this week. One: coaches can now search their session transcripts instead of scrolling through 45 minutes of audio notes. Type in "payment" or "timeline" and it finds the exact moment it was said. The other: direct messaging in the platform. No more switching between CoachOS and WhatsApp to follow up with a client — it's all there now.

Numbers: 16 coaches using it, 2 connected Stripe, everyone still in trial. 9 nudges scheduled over the last month, 6 actually sent (the others were coaches who completed homework, so we canceled them). Health check says 93% — two persistent failed sessions where Recall didn't capture anything. Can't recover those, just notified the coaches.

Honest part: we're stuck at trial-to-paid conversion. Every coach I talk to says the same thing — "This is incredible, but I need to see more sessions before I commit." Not a product problem, it's a trust problem. Sixteen weeks in and nobody's paying yet. The features are solid. The workflow works. But converting trials into subscriptions? That's where I'm actually blocked. What's your take — is this a sales problem, a pricing problem, or something in the product experience that's making coaches hesitant?

"This is incredible, but I need to see more sessions before I commit..." - that's not a trust issue with your product. That's a 'value realization' issue. They are convinced it will work, they just haven't yet felt that moment of "this is indispensable."

A couple of things that helped me think about similar issues that might be causing conversions to be lower than expected:

The "I need to see more sessions" issue suggests that the 'aha' moment isn't strong enough. If it takes 10 sessions for a coach to understand the power of your solution, that's 10 weeks of evaluation rather than commitment. Can that be shortened? Can a demo session be loaded with sample data that allows the coach to immediately start searching transcripts, see nudges fire, etc. - all on day one, without waiting for real client sessions to accumulate?

On pricing, have you considered making the trial period limited, but the number of sessions unlimited? "Free to use for 30 days" creates a different psychology from "Free to use until you decide." Unlimited trials lead people to put off the decision indefinitely.
The fact that 2 out of 16 are connected to Stripe suggests that there may be something different about those coaches. Are they higher volume coaches? Are they longer-term users of the stripe platform? This may give you insight into who your early adopter actually is... it may not be "coaches," it may be "high volume stripe coaches.
