Seeking a Mentor to Learn the Indie Hacker Craft 🚀

Hey Indie Hackers community,

I hope this message finds you all well! I'm on a journey to dive headfirst into the exciting world of indie hacking, and I'm reaching out today with a heartfelt request.

I'm incredibly passionate about learning and honing my skills in the indie hacking realm. I believe that the best way to accelerate my growth is by learning from those who have already walked the path. That's why I'm here to humbly ask for guidance and mentorship from a seasoned indie hacker.

If you're an experienced indie hacker willing to share your knowledge and help a motivated learner like me, I would be beyond grateful for your assistance. Whether it's insights into product development, marketing strategies, growth hacking techniques, or any other aspect of the indie hacking journey, I'm all ears!

I understand that time is precious, and I truly appreciate any willingness to invest your time and expertise in someone who's eager to learn and contribute. Together, we can make a positive impact on the indie hacking community and beyond.

If you're open to helping out, please feel free to reply here or reach out to me directly on X(twitter) @adetunji_oj or here. Even if you're not able to mentor directly, I'd love to connect with fellow indie hackers and learn from your experiences.

Thank you so much for considering my request. Let's continue to foster a supportive and collaborative environment within the indie hacking community.

Wishing you all the best in your projects and ventures!

Warm regards

The best advice I can give you is to just start, jump into it headfirst and build something. Follow other indie hackers here and on Twitter. I also highly recommend 'small bets' by Daniel Vassallo https://smallbets.co/. Its an amazing course and community and you'll meet lots of like-minded people.

Thanks Genny, I will checkout smallbets.

I suggest you to look into Rob Walling podcast "Start up for the rest of us". That guy is incredible and a great mentor to me.

      Thanks OlivierCote

Hey Adetunji, I agree with @Genny. Just start and learn as you go. Think about these questions:

    1. What problem am I going to solve for someone?
    2. How will I serve and consistently execute?
    3. As I make mistakes and "fail forwards", how quickly will I learn and improve?

Those pieces of advice have helped me immensely.

Hello Tunji, wishing you all the best. I don't have mentors who think themselves of my mentors. But I have a lot of people who offer value in different areas of my life. One thing I do is to offer value to them too. That way it seems less of a parasitic relationship.

      Thank you, Chimnwendum.

just look for #buildinpublic on twitter and follow people who post regularly or something that interests you. intereact with them, ask your queries in public or dm if it is too specific. Keep learning from others and teach others what you have learned. mentorship is overrated nobody has all the answers.

Welcome to the Indie Hackers world 👋

I am also beginning my journey by building MicroSaaS products. I find these communities very useful for me,

    1. Indie Mastermind by @ayushchat
    2. Small Bets by @dvassallo
    3. Following #buildinpublic people on Twitter

    Enjoy the journey 😀

Great post! You've definitely come to the right forum for finding incredible resources for indie hackers and startup founders. I agree with OlivierCote on referencing Rob Walling's podcast. I would also recommend checking back in the comments regularly to facilitate conversations around your particular interest as a hacker and potential founder. One other tip might be checking out local indie meetups as well to start building your network of likeminded hustlers in the space. Collaboration and community will always find those with passion and persistence.
