Hi Indie Hackers!
I'm currently working on growing our user base for Seodity, an all-in-one SEO tool, and I'm considering launching an affiliate program to attract more customers. However, I'm uncertain about the best strategies to find and attract potential affiliates.
Our Seodity affiliate program offers a 30% commission on all payments made by referred customers, with a 60-day cookie duration. We believe this is an attractive incentive for potential affiliates, but we need guidance on the most effective ways to reach them.
Here's my question: What are the best methods or channels to find affiliates who would be interested in promoting Seodity? Are there any specific strategies, platforms, or approaches that have proven successful for others in a similar situation?
I would greatly appreciate any advice, tips, or experiences you could share to help us find the right affiliates for our program.
Thanks in advance!
I'm on the affiliate side of this, so maybe a different perspective would help.
The affiliates worth having aren't hanging out on affiliate networks waiting for the next program to join. They're people who already write about the problem your tool solves - bloggers, newsletter writers, people answering questions on Quora, creators publishing on Medium. They already have the audience and the trust.
What would make me want to promote an SEO tool as an affiliate? Three things. First, the product actually being good - I won't recommend something that makes me look bad. Second, recurring commissions, which you already have. Third, and this is the one most founders skip - give me content I can work with. Case studies, real data, comparison angles. If I have to figure out the whole marketing angle myself, I'll probably move on to a product that makes it easier.
The best way to find affiliates isn't to post your program on a directory and wait. Reach out directly to people who are already writing about SEO. Search for blog posts comparing tools like yours, find the authors, and send them a short personal message. Not a template. A real message that shows you read their content.
30% with a 60-day cookie is solid. The offer isn't your problem. Distribution of the offer is.
I built sif'd for this purpose. We're basically a searchable database of youtubers and twitter users. All active. All english speaking. Filterable by size, category, with contact details. Check us out!
Thanks for sharing. I'm new to this site and finding a resource like this in the comments is amazing.
Launching an affiliate program is a great way to attract more customers and grow your user base for Seodity.
Your incentive of a 30% commission on all payments made by referred customers with a 60-day cookie duration sounds very attractive to potential affiliates.
One effective strategy to find affiliates is to look for existing creators who teach SEO on social media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook groups.
You can filter by size, category, and contact details to find those interested in promoting your brand.
Another approach is to reach out directly to potential affiliates, such as influencers or website owners who you believe would provide an organic fit for your link.
Additionally, you can use affiliate marketing platforms such as Avangate or FlexOffers to create and generate links in bulk.
You can also post your offer on social media platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or Reddit to attract potential affiliates.
It's essential to evaluate the potential affiliates carefully and ensure they align with your brand and values to maintain a positive reputation.
You can start with a small group of affiliates and gradually expand as you see success.
If you need more help, you can consider using a startup like Affistash, which focuses on helping companies attract and recruit the best affiliates/partners for their products.
I hope this helps, and best of luck with your affiliate program!
What comes to mind is to find existing creators teaching SEO. Youtubers, TikToks, Twitter. Go through their postings to see if they are someone you want to work with as they will be extension be saying something about your brand. I think to start doing things that don't scale is ok. You can dm them directly or try cold emailing them. Maybe look into SEO facebook groups and see if the creator of the group would be interested
A good question and no one has a winning formula for it yet.

Hi Henry,
Thank you for sharing it!
Hey Marcin! This is a problem that lots of founders and startups struggle with, but once you manage to figure it out, it can be a game changer for sure, especially if you have a validated product. For example, one of our customers grew his product organically to 5k MRR and after that he just focused on recruiting the right affiliates, resellers and partners, and this helped him grow to 35k MRR in 1 year, and it took a lot of work of his shoulders
Ironically enough :), my startup, Affistash solves this exact problem for companies, so we only focus on helping them attract and recruit the best affiliates/partners for their product
I'd love to have a chat about it and see if we could help you too, so feel free to book a free demo here or shoot me an email at [email protected] and let's see if we can help you grow too
Thanks!
Great question! Apparently, a lot of people are interested and I'd love to hear the real stories of how people do it. From what I know:
Thank you Alena!
