Hi everyone,
I am happy, happy, happy to be here!
I have been toying with the idea of creating a community-first marketplace that has naturally occurring verticals within the sub-groups. Up until recently with the advent of several new no-code solutions, I was thinking about it the wrong way. After polling a small group of potential users and researching would-be competitors, simplicity and UI/UX is what will make this product successful.
What I have:
·A solid plan with a target audience and brandable messaging
·Roadmap to MVP/MVE that's able to pivot based on user input
·Verticals that can scale
·Determined traction channels to initially target for best first users
What I need (a complimentary team):
·CTO/Techie that loves no/low-code and their integrations
·Someone who would love to help build a community with a bias for action
Sought after skills:
·Webflow, airtable, workflow automation, circle.so
·UI/UX design
·Design/Creative skills
·Audio/Video creation and editing
·Bias for action
·Ownership
·Challenges the status quo
·StoryBrand
My Expertise:
·Business Operations & Strategy
·Branding & Marketing
Education:
·MBA - Healthcare Administration
·MBA - Strategy, Business Law, Entrepreneurship
·BS - Aeronautics & Management
I do have no/low-code skills that I have used since 2016 building multiple niches and service-based websites however, it takes me forever and it's not something I enjoy. I want to be able to build the product and gain initial traction at the same time.
There is a huge market for this product as the handful of competitors are lacking in several key abilities that are easy to implement with available no-code tools.
I can leverage my 17K+ audience on LinkedIn to help find initial users along with a private Facebook group of 6K who would be interested in this product.
I would love to connect and discuss privately the idea I have, but for now, it is a Community-First Marketplace centered around the business niche.
Thanks for reading!
All the best
Joshua
Hi I would love to have a chat with you on an idea my team is currently working on, i.e. Blockchain and NFT. If you are open for a chat email me at jackal2912@gmail.com
cheers
I see very little traction with this post and I think I know the reason why!
I left all you awesome folks in the dark of what I am trying to accomplish. I can see how hard it is to get interested in pursuing this.
The BIG picture
Create a Community-First Marketplace for entrepreneurs
What the heck does that mean?
·It means that unlike Y-combinator, Cofounderslab, etc... community is key!
·Unlike Facebook Groups you do not have to worry about getting pitched a coaching/consulting/product within the normal community spaces.
·It will only be allowed in designated spaces (the start of a marketplace).
·The idea here is to build a community of entrepreneurs (the initial vertical) that gains trust, shares in knowledge & experience, and creates valued connections.
Biggest Pain Point Solved for Initial Users
·Again unlike other sites that promise to help you find a cofounder for your idea or project, you will be able to search for others who have the desired skills, experience, and demographics you prefer to work with. As complementary skills within cofounders have been proven to make things a lot easier (and thus I wouldn't have to be spilling the beans to the entire world!) to DM (if that user wants to be DM'd as well).
Hopefully this helps for clarity
·I know the minimum tools needed to get the MVP/MVE done fast
·I have the traction channels to get initial users who want this product
·Building/Integrating it with No-code tools is the initial pathway
·I'm looking for sweat equity only (no capital requirements!)
1st Person - The Hacker/Hipster
·A no/low coder who has an eye for design or creativity & understands the basics of UI/UX (Object-Oriented UX to be specific), CMS, automation integrator, and it helps to enjoy a community!
2nd Person - The Hipster
·Designer, UX master, can tell a great story, and it helps to enjoy a community!
Me - the Hustler
·Business Leader
·Growth Hacker and strategist
·Deep passion for branding and marketing
·Understands technical stuff and has experience in web dev
·Creates systems and processes that are duplicatable and scalable
·Understands firsthand the pain points we're going to solve for each vertical
Thanks again for all the upvotes to help me stay visible and build a team that can knock this out of the park!
How is this different from Indie Hackers, and what's the revenue model?
Hi Rachel, Thank you for reading.
It's different from Indie Hackers and many others for several reasons. Indie Hackers is focused on product builds and hackers per se, not the independent coach or work-from-home person in your neighborhood.
That is a major audience difference for what I am trying to create.
As for revenue model: memberships, SaaS MRR, sales, transactions, etc...
Yes, I understand the vagueness of this answer but as the product is not complete, I'd rather not publicize the business model.
It is a Community-First Marketplace for entrepreneurs, the community is a driving force to be part of the marketplace. Where everyone can connect, learn, and grow together but also part of a much larger infrastructure to be helped in key areas of conducting various types of business both online and off.
Feel free to reach out if you'd like a more in-depth answer and I'll be happy to share.
Thanks again
Joshua
