Seeking Interview Web Dev Advice
Hi Hackers!
I'm new to the platform but I'm hoping you can share some insights as I'm sure many of you have been here before.
I've taken one Python course in the past but beyond that have Zero development/coding experience.
I'm interviewing 3 or 4 developers this week to just start on the journey of making my dream concept a reality. My thought in developing the MVP is to use Wordpress and then have the dev team (2 or 3 people) work to create the few unique pages I'll need. The intention is to keep the cost down of course. thoughts?
Likewise, what questions do you think I should ask during the interviews, specific to development?
I already built the wireframes and a page tree myself. I've also started on the site and different plug in.

Hi Nate,
I peeked at your profile and saw you want to build a marketplace.
There are a lot of no-code marketplace building products out there.
If I were you I wouldn't run to build the "perfect" product of your dreams but build a viable initial product (MVP) that could test your market and generate initial revenue using no-code tools out there.
There's a no-code group here that could really help you out with pointers to SaaS products that could get you up and running.

Thanks Jonathan! My thoughts exactly. Great minds think alike. :) my hope is to use Wordpress for a majority of the site and only customize a few key features. Hopefully this will keep cost down. I’ll let you know when I have something and I’ll let you test it out.

Hi Nate I would urge you to consider finding a co-founder and share equity over paying someone to get the job done. It usually leads to better outcomes in my experience.

I’m totally willing to give up equity for the right partner but have struggled to find someone that’s really right that isn’t already working on their own thing. I even tried to post and equity proposition on Upwork. Upwork took it down. The hunt continues. If you know any developers that are seeking their next long term project, let me know. I could really use a CTO.
