Seeking Landing Page Feedback - Generate Metadata

Hello! I’ve built an MVP for my idea generate-metadata.com and would love some feedback. The gist of it is that it is a CMS exclusively for metadata, and will automatically scrape and use AI to generate the best meta tags for your site.

Appreciate your time and feedback!

Quick testable copy structure for this page:

    1. Headline = painful outcome in plain words ("Your pages are losing clicks because metadata is weak").
    2. Subhead = business impact ("Better snippets increase CTR from search + social").
    3. Proof = one before/after metadata example directly under CTA.
    4. CTA = specific action ("Generate metadata for one page now").

If useful, I can do a fast teardown with exact line edits + priority order here: https://roastmysite.io/go.php?src=external_manual_nonhn_indiehackers01_20260328_c2_usd_presell_hv

    Nice progress on this.

If you want more trial starts from the same traffic, I’d test this order:

    1. Above-the-fold: one clear promise in plain language (“Auto-generate production-ready metadata in minutes”).
    2. Immediate proof: show a before/after metadata snippet right under the CTA.
    3. CTA copy: switch from generic to intent (“Generate my metadata now”).

Happy to do a $1 quick roast with exact edits + priority order here: https://roastmysite.io/go.php?src=ih_l002_20260312

Hey @nahtnam — looked at Generate Metadata and noticed 2 easy wins:

    1. Visual hierarchy is clean, but the main CTA can stand out more.
    2. A benefit-first subheadline would make the value clearer in ~3 seconds.

If useful, I can send 2 specific fixes free first. If that helps, I can do a full 10-point roast for $14 (UX/copy/SEO, <24h).

The design is minimal but needs to be tightened up visually if you want to lean into this aesthetic. A few things to consider

Get yourself a logo. It does not have to be elaborate but at the moment it is so plain it doesn't register. Consider at least introducing some color

You have too many variants of type size and color. Look to simplify for better overall readability and scanability

Spacing between and within sections is all over the place. Look to simplify so there is more vertical rhythm

use shadows consistently or don't use them at all. Some blocks have them, some don't

Your nav button/tabs are sometimes purple, sometimes black. Choose one and stick with it

Look to reduce your overall variance in color. Start with one accent color, build out. Then look for opportunities to introduce additional colors. At the moment color is not building hierarchy, it just looks random

Thank you for the feedback. You're totally right, I've been relying on LLMs to generate and tweak the pages, but looks like I should first ask it to create a design system to be able to reuse. I appreciate you taking a look and will work on this today!

No prob, you are close! Just need to polish it up

    Hey nahtnam,
Congrats on the MVP launch! This is a really clever idea. I love the clean, minimalist design of the landing page – it feels very professional and gets straight to the point.
One thought I had as a first-time user: the feature list is really strong, but I was looking for a visual to help me understand the workflow. You've built a powerful tool, and a simple screenshot or a short GIF showing the "before and after" of a piece of metadata could be incredibly persuasive. Seeing the product in action would be a great way to instantly show the value.
Overall, this is a very strong and promising start. The UI is clean, and the value proposition is clear. Best of luck with it!

Thank you very much, totally agree! I'll work on getting a loom or video in the hero section so that people know what is going on

That's a great plan! A quick Loom video is a perfect way to show the tool in action. Happy to help, and best of luck with the updates.

    Hey,

Navigation - weird menu (old material design?), get started should have secondary button styling otherwise it looks like a normal link not a secondary CTA
Eyebrow - who is it for?
Headline - "Transform your content into perfectly optimized metadata" would work better as a headline. Plug and play seo management says nothing really.
    CTA Button - two arrows
A lot is going on around the button as well, try spacing and reducing things a bit.
Process could be shown better. Try vertically and add step numbers.
AI powered optimization - switching content is useless here, it doesn't show much changes
Value props should in separate cards.
Think of changing Built for you with something that doesn't look like pricing section.
Framework integration section adds to confusion, I can't really tell how this thing works. There's some work with explaining that easily.
Footer CTA - a lot of things in there, I'd go with less content there.

If you need a designer feel free to reach out. You can find me on X (link in the profile) I have some hours available this week.

Hey, I appreciate your response, this feedback is amazing and I'll work on implementing it into the pages. I think I was trying to lean on https://daisyui.com/ a little too much, and it gives off that bootstrap/material design vibe. I'll look into switching it to shadcn or something a bit more complicated. Based on yours and other feedback it looks like I'm trying to target two people, SEO and developers and that content is getting mixed and I'm being too verbose. I'll look to simplify and target one persona. Thank you for your time and feedback!

Hey mate - congrats on your MVP! I ran your site through my free website conversion rate/digital experience auditing tool, hopefully the info below helps. I had to summarise it because it was lengthyyyy:

The generate-metadata website suffers from a classic "solution-first" approach that skips the crucial problem identification and agitation phases. While the tool itself appears functional, the site fails to create emotional connection or urgency around metadata optimization. The biggest opportunity lies in repositioning from a technical tool to a business solution that solves real visibility and traffic problems. The site needs to establish clear pain points around lost search visibility and social media engagement before presenting its metadata generation solution as the remedy.
    Key priorities for improvement:

    • Lead with problem identification around search and social visibility
    • Add concrete consequences of poor metadata (lost traffic, lower rankings)
    • Include social proof and authority signals
    • Reframe the solution in terms of business outcomes rather than technical features
    • Create urgency around competitive disadvantage from poor metadata

The tool also recommended some things you could immediately re-optimise:
Current: Implied technical need for metadata
Optimised: "Your website is invisible on Google SERPs and social media because of missing or poorly optimized metadata"
Psychology: Creates immediate recognition of a critical visibility problem

    Current: No agitation present
Enhanced: "Every day your metadata isn't optimized, competitors are stealing your clicks and customers are scrolling past your content"
Psychology: Loss aversion and competitive pressure drive immediate action

Current: "Generate metadata for your website"
Optimized: "Transform your invisible website into a traffic magnet with optimized metadata that makes search engines and social media showcase your content"
Psychology: Focus on transformation and visible results rather than technical features

If you're interested in generating more reports, competitor & voice of customer research, or using my tool to re-write your page with a high converting framework search Optimi Studio. Totally free to use while in MVP.

very text heavy. some weird inconsistencies in the header text. your logomark looks like a logo mark and screams bootstrapped saas so if i was a developer I would be warry about using your product to build anything production ready. i skipped right past the first example. but for the product, it seems like you did decently with what you have because making metadata look good is a challenge in and of itself. I would add a way to show how many optimizations they could have on their site via url or show how much traffic or money people are losing from bad metadata to tie straight to ROI. this could give you product more immediacy. I would also offer an ebook on best SEO practice or a quiz to see if they are doing seo best practice.
