Seeking technical co-founder/mentor in NYC for FinTech app

Hi Coders,

I'm a solo team looking to pair with a technical co-founder.

You can view the project @ borrow.nyc

I look forward to hearing from prospects, or anyone with any input.

    Chase,
    Interesting concept.
What is the business side is done so far? Everything in the legal/regulations is done? Once the technical platform is done do you have a plan to acquire customers?

@ajiabs So far, the only thing I have is a high fidelity prototype, and really rough landing page. Outside of that, I have not put this out in front of anyone except for on Indiehackers. This project is in its early early infancy stage. I have a list of compliance and regulatory professionals to reach out to once I'm done putting the POC together. I do have a go to market strategy, I'm just working on the foundations at the moment.

Hi @adeohluwa! What skillsets are you offering?

looks like you want a mobile app built, i can code flutter so iOS & Android launches once! plus i know just how to promote it

p2p lending is a cool spot. Did you already launch? What's the validation you got so far?

Hi @theBliz! I find the same to be true, however, it's the most difficult space to launch in my opinion! Much more compliance and regulation than I had realized from the jump. I have not launched yet. I only have a POC not an MVP. Currently seeking people to help build this product. And I have only just put this out on indiehackers, I haven't gotten much further with it. Looking to get market validation once landing page is fully developed and responsive. Currently trying out no-code options like bubble and zeroqode. Let me know if you have any input or feedback! I need all the help I can get at this point.

all spaces are difficult to get into :) this one has slightly more regulation than others. I was thinking that regulations could be addressed in this case by structuring it more than p2p landing into some sort of e-commerce/subscription product.. but I'm no lawyer so not sure it would be doable..
Is this a side hustle or a funded project you're working on full time? Based on this info you can address different strategies

        1. 1

Good point! I wholeheartedly agree. Once I build the landing page, my next step is to reach out to compliance and regulatory officers to see if this would even be possible. Each step is a new learning process!

Although we won a small grant to work on this project over the summer of 2018, this is nothing more than a side hustle. Looking to turn this into my full time gig.

if that's the status I'd suggest running a closed beta among users before asking for compliance. You'd end up wasting a lot of time in bureaucracy without even knowing if your concept is viable

Again, great advice. This was my initial thought as well, I just haven't made it as far as putting into people's hands yet. I've just been focused on my baby steps, trying to get the idea and building stage out of the way. Thank you. These are all really good things to think about.
