Seeking that "zero phucks given push" to just do it!
I'm there. I'm really there. I need someone to "kick" me off this cliff. I've got my parachute but need that push so I'll be safe.
My Shopify app is ready (version 0.5 😇), it does what I want it do: emailing + orders to invoice in xero (manually) so far, while I wait to become a xero app partner. The only thing I havent done is documentation.
Accounting can be tricky as I havent included any UI error handling so if you enter incorrect tax information, nothing will save. This error handling will take some time to implement correctly but I need to get this thing out. The longer I take, the more crap I'll add to it without getting real users to tell me what is shyt and what's ok.
What you did to.... just do it? No wonder I've never launched anything in my life. Too many procrastinations!! 😡
It doesn't matter when you don't start; it's the same never every time.
Launch and fail. It doesn't matter. At all. Nobody cares.
When you launch and fail, nothing will happen to you. Launchers fear that people will be upset; people will shun their products for generations to come; people will be angry all over the world and reputations will be ruined.
That would be the best possible outcome. That would be magical. That would be a beautiful feat of marketing. But that won't happen. What will happen is deafening silence. Shattering indifference.
And from it, you will learn. And launch and fail again. And learn, and fail, and learn, and fail, and learn, and fail, and learn, and fail, and learn.
You might as well start now, because there is no way around it.
Many thanks. I want to fail early. I want to learn from my mistakes and grow as a person. I'll just get the ball rolling as of now.
Launch and fail and you lose money.
Worst case - someone else's money.
I think there is something to fear there.
Think about what tangible goal or state this launch can bring you closer to. It makes the mountain of work much easier to climb.
I'm often feeling in the same boat. The great thing about never launching is never getting judged for failing. The great thing about launching is getting closer to all those things you always wanted. How much do you want it?
I want it now; now as in last year. That's how bad I want it.
