Self-promotion is everywhere and it makes me sick

I've been noticing this for months, but probably it was there all the time.

People around me, on forums and on social media, promoting themselves. The self-centerness on social media channels...

I'm pretty sick of it. And I'm guilty of it aswel. Self-promotion on Reddit, some posts on IndieHackers about my projects... And I feel stupid because of this.

Self-promotion is EVERYWHERE.

Today again: I open Instagram -> open stories -> "New post"-stories about people promoting themselves...

Probably, I don't understand this world enough. I'm just sharing this post to share my thoughts.

Maybe anyone around here can show this from a different perspective with more enlightenment.
