Sell before you launch
This is a rule of thumb for startups. Could you please share from experience how you've gone about this for your startup and how early-stage founders, particularly first-time founders could go about this effectively? What channels are most effective for distribution?

Personally, I've got a lot to learn from this. I'm interested in how products like Dropbox and Slack could gather thousands of users within their first few days of launch. Please help with tips and insights! Thank you as you do.
I would love to know as well. My educated guess is a combination of freemium, paid advertising and word of mouth.
