yesterday i packaged 798 marketing agency contacts (54 countries, verified emails) into a CSV and listed it for $19.
heres the setup:
day 1 results: 0 sales.
but heres what i learned about selling data products.
the product is solid
798 agencies. 54 countries. agency name, email, website URL, region. CSV format. scraped over two weekends from agency websites. deduplicated across 257 batch files.
anyone doing agency outreach saves 15+ hours buying this instead of scraping.
distribution is the problem
same lesson as the cold email service: the product is not the bottleneck. finding buyers is.
IH is my highest-traffic channel. but IH users are builders and founders, not salespeople looking for contact lists. the buyer is on linkedin, r/sales, or niche marketing forums.
what $19 data products need
i have 1 and 3. working on 2.
next steps
the $19 price is intentional. cheap enough for impulse buy, expensive enough to signal quality.
