I'm selling Influence Grid, the TikTok influencer search engine I launched in December.
It's been a fun first project, but it needs someone to properly invest in content marketing to take it to the next level, and I just don't have that much interest in doing that right now.
It's doing around $2500 MRR with minimal costs, and this is still growing. It has 50 paying customers and SEO traffic is going up.
What price do you think I should aim for?
15-30 x MRR seems to be common, but looking at Flippa the multiples for newer projects seem to be A LOT lower than for established sites and my project is only 6 months old.
Also, if anyone is interested in buying, DM me on Twitter!
Hey Andy, Influence Grid at $2.5k MRR with growing SEO and 50 paying customers is a clean little asset - makes sense to hand it to someone who'll do the content grind. I'm launching clAIssified, an escrow-protected marketplace for finished SaaS, and I'd love to list it as a founding seller: free, 0% fee, escrow handles the money + verified handover so the deal is safe for both sides. Want me to put it up?
Can you post the SEO traffic graph and sources?
Can't post an image, but here's a tweet with screenshots: https://twitter.com/clokehead/status/1265358658176782336
Why are you selling? Looking to go on to a new project? I'd be tempted to find a co-founder with growth and marketing skills and give some equity away in exchange for their input to grow it. You could link equity release to certain MMR milestones - am sure you'd get a ton of motivated people interested. You've got a great proof of concept business there.
I've just lost interest in the niche. It's starting to feel like a bit of a chore working on it and I have other things I want to start. Shiny object syndrome I guess!
I'm aware there are other options, but with my lack of interest, I don't think they're worth doing.
Fair enough, I had a similar project to this on Instagram a while back hit you took yours further than I ever did.
I'm curious to know - I assume you implemented this with a scraper / database - how heavy a load do you find the reworking of the scraper considering tiktok have no formal api?
Took ages to figure out initially, has been pretty minimal since then. But yeah probably the major risk in this business.
What's the tech stack?
Backend: TypeScript, Node, Postgres, Apollo Server, TypeORM
Frontend: TypeScript, React, Apollo Client, Razzle.js/ After.js (just for SSR)
Deployed on Heroku
Nice!
It should at least be 100K in my opinion.
