Hi everyone!
I’m a solo maker and I’ve been building a Flutter AI journaling MVP called Quiet Lines. I just listed it on Flippa and I’d love feedback from people who’ve sold similar products.
What it is:
Quiet Lines is a calm, privacy-first journal app with:
AI journaling prompts / reflections
App lock (private journaling)
6 languages
Dark / Light mode
Insights & simple stats overview
Clean, modern UI (white-label friendly)
Flippa listing: https://flippa.com/12221445-ai-journal-quiet-lines
Now I’m unsure about positioning and would love your opinions:
Pros: I can sell multiple times, predictable cashflow
Cons: more support, pricing pressure, competing with marketplaces
Pros: higher ticket, one big sale
Cons: harder without metrics, I lose the ability to resell
If you’ve sold on Flippa or built similar MVPs:
What would you do in my place?
Price range you’d recommend?
Would you list it as “digital asset/template” vs “app/business”?
Anything you’d add/remove to make it more appealing?
Happy to share screenshots / demo video if useful. Thanks in advance 🙏
This is a really practical crossroads — and I think you’re asking the right question by putting the business model ahead of feature perfection. Most founders jump straight to “build more” instead of “what’s the smallest thing that can actually sell.”
From what you’ve shared so far, the core value is the structure and clarity your journal provides — not the bells and whistles. That means selling it as a template could be a great early play: you get revenue and fast feedback from real users about what they’re willing to pay for, which informs whether a full app is even justified.
Two things I’d think about when choosing between template vs. full app:
Buyer expectations on Flippa: Template buyers are often looking for quick utility and low risk. Full app buyers expect traction, metrics, and growth signals — so without that, a full app listing could undervalue you.
Scope of work vs. revenue potential: If turning this into a full app requires a lot of custom features, you might end up building for future users who aren’t there yet. Templates let you validate willingness to pay before you invest more dev time.
I’d also start tracking which type of buyer inquiries you get on the template listing — that’s early market research in disguise.
Happy to chat through pricing approaches or how to package it for better exits — these decisions early on tend to compound more than we realize.
