Send cookies via API (real edible cookies)

I've been thinking a lot lately about doing things that don't scale, about APIs, about the "real" world and the "digital" world and how to combine the two.

An API is something that lets machines communicate with each other. But what if we instead explored how a machine could send a request via API to a human to get something done?

How could an API touch the "real" world rather than the "digital" world? Would this even be desirable? One example is sending a personal gift (i.e. box of cookies, chocolates, flowers), via API.

If you have a list of customers, you could programmatically send them cookies on their 1 year anniversary, as a more personalised way to say "thank you".

Does this exist already? What are other ways that APIs could interact with the physical world?
