Send for free 💌 on my AI assisted newsletter tool's beta programme
Hi everyone!
I built an AI assisted newsletter creator called Letter (see it here on IndieHackers), and I'm looking for a small handful of beta testers to join a beta programme to try the new sending feature.
For this feature, it's so new that I haven't got any pricing, I just need to make sure it works, as email sending is wild!

'Letter Send' Beta Programme
'Letter Send' (still thinking of a name) will let you send newsletters through Letter extremely affordably via Amazon Simple Email Service (AWS SES) . So yeah, not free but nearly!
AWS SES costs $1 to send 10,000 emails, whereas with something like Mailchimp, it's around $200.
It's a bit more of a technical set up as the user needs to create an AWS account and sign up for SES. This is why I'm asking for beta users, and anyone who is familiar with AWS would be great!
Requirements
To get the right feedback, I'm looking for people who have:
- Are running a newsletter, or have done so in the past
- Familiar with AWS SES, or similar
- Willing to give feedback or open to joining a small discord channel
Pricing
-- I can't give the product free forever, but if you want to continue using it after the beta, we could pop a 'made with Letter' in the footer or something!

Are you pre-launch/pre-revenue?
I'm curious how you're planning on monetizing the product and for what market.
thanks for having a look, it hasn't been launched on any marketplaces or producthunt, but have early customers for a while without marketing it.
I actually had been trying not to sell it because there were common issues that new users would discover. It's really good now though! There's going to be a launch via Adobe MAX next month.
re the pricing, it is here: https://letter.so/pricing/, but it needs to be increased quite a lot as it was based on an old Letter version (I the landing page! no mention of AI and many other improvements).
I have no thoughts on the pricing for sending newsletters via Amazon SES as that part is in private beta
Agreed, your pricing needs to increase quite a lot. 📈
I also think you need a business tier (or two) as they'll get the most value and will pay the most.
I would roll the SES cost into your product cost and allow 100 messages for the free plan, 5000 for creator, and 10k for business plans.
Yeah agree, that is one for the future because sending won't be really viable short term, unless the user is more technical and can set up Amazon SES!
Also would need to add team accounts for businesses. It's all set up with that in mind, as the payment is applied to the user's publication rather than their account..so you could add users and have price per seat.
I'm gonna need to hire people to do that though cos I do Prototypr.io too, and that is too much on my plate
The first version of Letter was amazing, great to see it's expanding now!
