Idea: Send blog posts by email to your subscriber list without using plugin.
Most companies and marketers like to publish blogs. High-quality content attracts organic traffic. This content helps you establish credibility.
Now you want to send these blog posts to an email list or to your subscribers. What do you do? You take that content and add to another email marketing tool like MailChimp. Wouldn't it be nice if you were able to automate blog posts to be sent by email to your subscribers? I wanted to solve this problem and was looking for a specific solution where
After a blog post is published, I want to send email to my subscribed users
It should be done automatically
Blog post should be published with 40–50% content and then there should be a read more link that takes user to the website
I would like to show related posts based on tag
I should be able to track the open rate and CTR for the email sent
Should be affordable. I do not want to pay mailChimp pricing
Why not use wordpress plugin?
The biggest reason is that I collect my email subscribers through different channels and I do not want to import my subscribers everytime manually into the wordpress. It is also not easy to move subscribers back and forth. If anyone has tried doing that in jetpack plugin, they know what exactly I mean.
Not using wordpress, but I remember that WP came with such a functionality (send mail if new post is published) in the past. Is this not the case anymore?
Alternatively, ConvertKit offers to import posts via RSS that then create mails to subscribers. Also not needing a WP plugin.
Is this pain big enough to warrant a business?
I did not knew convert kit had the feature. Thanks for pointing out. I checked out the pricing and they charge $66 for 5k subscribers. Can we have a business with lower price point example $ 20 per month with no tracking features? Will it make sense to have a business around this side but solely on price point?
I would not compete on price, that's a race to the bottom.
Instead, how about you compete on features? Or fit for a specific niche?
I agree. Pricing will not be a key factor. I have not looked into details on the features. Niche is a good idea but the product is a very general.
