I am trying to create some structure around bringing awareness to https://storycreatorapp.com/. I find myself going down rabbit holes and not maximizing my time.
My goal is to send 50 direct messages per day, whether that be an email or a direct message on social media. It seems like from whom I've talked to and listen to, that 50 is a good number per day.
The problem is how do I generate a list that large that's around 300 leads per week.
The product I am building has some complexities, I am trying to keep the scope small overall but am trying to create enough value out of it for people to start creating content.
What are some effective strategies that have worked for you guys? Is 50 a good number? What did you do to make life easier in sending those 50 messages a day?
From what I have gathered trying this myself. Cold email is harder than I thought. Steli from close has some great vids on the topic.
You might be better off finding a VA from Upwork to get the leads for you, make sure you clean the list before sending any emails to avoid getting marked as spam.
Yeah, thats good advice.
I would say the key thing I need to keep reinforcing is - BE SPECIFIC AS TO WHO I AM TARGETING. Easier said than done. I am not sure the answer is always 100% clear upfront. I am going to write it out and reach out to who I think is the best target audience and see if they resonate with the product best. Currently, I am aiming at talking to social media managers. They have influence over their team and clients in what tools they use.
So I have found Linkedin to be the best resource for finding these people. If anyone has any other suggestions on the best tools to find targeted leads. I am all eyes and ears.
It's way easier said than done and way too hard to do at scale (I mean like over 10 times in a day)
After doing some digging I found a course that talked about sending a question to the contact first. So if you were selling something..... websites, for example, you would ask them
Subject- "Question"
Body-"Who designed your website?"
With the intention of following up with a pitch once they reply.
Going to give this a go on a list of 500~ specific targets I am going after. I will target them in groups of 20 or so to refine my opening email and I will post an update on my product page after I get through them all.
Hopefully can get my first customer like this.
I kind of assumed that your product has launched (this is a growth question) but instead your landing page says "Sign up to be notified".
Why?
Great question. The app is very volatile and isn't officially production-ready. I am rolling out features left and right. While I am doing that I am testing with select users.
So if the user wants to enter I am ok with that. However, if someone is waiting for the official product then they can sign up to be notified.
At least that's my thinking behind it. Basically I want people to experience the raw product. I don't want to make it a secret. You can create an account and break stuff, thats awesome. If you want the more polished version then you can sign up and be notified when the true value for the product is available.
Okay got it. So you're in beta, or alpha.
As a layman, when I landed on your website, my quick impression was
"Ah this app isn't available for use yet (since I saw the email and get notified form). And man I don't want to sign up for yet another product that will launch in the future."
And I bounced off.
Love the LP man, this seems like a good product idea.
On twitter there's a digital marketer named Kumar who does live Q&A's
Check it out and see if you can get some feedback. He's super knowledgeable and might have a good tactic specific for your biz!
Thanks for the kind words and recommendation I will check him out. Cheers!
Cold e-mail is tough. I've had better luck creating content on a blog (that's tailored to your audience) then e-mailing them that content as a warmer intro. Hopefully drive some traffic to your blog as well.
Cool, thanks for the tip. I need to really nail who my target audience is. I have a general idea but need to be better with it.
What I am going to work on soon is creating landing pages for different features, targeting different keywords.
I'll also be working on offering high-value blog content. That is definitely a solid approach that takes time - so I better start yesterday.
Yeah, it's easy to put off, but it's like wealth creation for your business. Helps with SEO, credibility, etc.
Love the look of your website, well designed. I agree with you in that you need to nail the target audience. Could have a really good net promoter score if done properly. Best of luck!
Thank you for your kind words. It's definitely coming along. I agree. I found this to be one of the best keyword tools out there https://app.neilpatel.com/en/ubersuggest/
I'm going to spend some time doing research and making a schedule on releasing content regularly. I found the power in blogging when I built http://levelupaesthetics.com/ I barely update it but get 1k views a month.
