SEO - How can we rank higher in Google when our content is mainly images?

At first sight I would say that content is something you should consider. An in-depth area of content related to what your users would find useful in the form of several hubs in the form of guides and templates for you.
Digging more in your website I see that you should scaling in terms of number of images created, so create a page templates for each images/format you publish rather than using the name of the author.
In your vertical Title tags are quite important and you must define them properly with name/object + illustration (or whatever you want to rank for).

draws names, user names, site brand are mixed up without any structure that allow you to scale.
Rather than doing that, make sure you are clear about your goals, as at the moment you are not.
I forgot another important aspect is to analyse and reverse-engineering (Ahrefs/SEMrush) your main competitors, the biggest players and the smallest. Even thought you can't directly compete with the biggest right now, but they can give you an advice and a direction. While smaller players are the ones you compete directly with now, and they can give you a starting point of strategy you work on.

You'll probably want to write some content (in the form of a blog, or something). That's the easiest way to target and provide value for specific keywords.
Take a look at Google structured data types - make sure your images/pages provide information to Google that shows them what's on the page. Here's some information about the "image" structured data type: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/image-license-metadata

I would very much like it so that when people search for terms like "Drawing network", "Social drawing", that we rank in google. Our tagline is "The Drawing Social Network", yet we do not appear for any of those search terms when I look at the stats in Google Search Console, only terms like "drawpool", "drawpoll" (??) and "drawool" (????)
Can somebody help me?
