[SEO] How do You Find Article Keywords in Competitive Niches?

Let's say that you are building an App in the Productivity/Time Management niche.

How would you go about writing content when you are starting with DR 0 and you are competing against the big players with DR 50+ websites.

Is there any chance that SEO could work in this case?

domain authority is a bogus metric defined by seo tools. don't bother with it.

use semrush to find competitor keywords and write nice, informative, helpful articles on regular basis.

i started with a DA0 domain a year ago and now dominating conde nast websites on google search. focus on content.

I always like to turn this one around. Rather than focus on keywords, focus on questions.

What questions are your customers asking that are not being answered by the big players in your niche? Or, how can you answer those questions better to serve your customers?

What unique pieces of content or resources can you create that your competitors are overlooking?

Take metrics like Domain Authority and toss them out - they are made up by sites like Moz/SemRush/Ahrefs to make you think they are adding value when, in reality, they are completely arbitrary.

SEO definitely can work... if you are being creative and strategic with the spots you pick. If you pull the same list of keywords your competitors are and write a blog post for each one, it probably won't work. If you target the questions your customers are asking and solving problems your competitors are not, you stand a chance at getting your foot in the door.

Hi there! I'm trying to build a tool for the SEO space as I feel like it is quite frustrating. You seem like a knowledgeable person on the subject and I'd love to have a chat with you to understand where you see the space is lacking the most. If you feel like it, book a time with me here: https://calendly.com/franco-abtestingai/seo-rant

      Thank you for your reply.

What's your approach for finding low competition keywords in such a competitive niche? Can you share an example of one?

It doesn't have to be in the productivity niche if you don't want to expose your keywords. I just mentioned it because I know it is high competition, I am not personally building something related, but you can use finance for your example.
