SEO Observations and Testing

I've recently started to spend more time on marketing and less on product development. Today I did a bit of keyword research to identify what my target keywords ought to be. I decided on a small set of reasonable keyword targets and setup some page rank tracking for my site. As suspected, I was nowhere to be found in the top 100 for any of my targeted keywords. Its not a surprise of course since I haven't spent a second on SEO yet. What I'm excited about is that I've established a target, discovered my current baseline, and now I'm planning out changes to the site to go after my targeted keywords. My goal is within 3 months to be somewhere in the top 100 for at least some of my targets. Today I didn't code but I'm very happy with the great progress I made regardless.
