SEO Strategies I Used to Reach 200k+ Monthly Page Views

hi Indie Hackers,

I've put up a long-ish screencast detailing the strategies I used to get traffic to my e-commerce website.

I'm a programmer, so there's a strong slant towards tools like structured data and mass content creation (i.e. converting user behavior or data into html into SEO).

For those of you doing consumer-facing web-apps, I hope there'll be something of value here.

Why does your traffic fluctuate so much (in some months your traffic when down to zero)?

    1. 2

There are two factors at play here:

      1. Down to 0: This corresponded to GDPR. My traffic was actually normal, but in the uncertainty after GDPR, I assumed Google Analytics would be illegal so I stopped using it for a while. Then it later emerged that Google Analytics was safe to use so I brought it back in.

      2. Seasonality trends: My business works with students and therefore traffic maps to the academic terms
