SEOmaxxing: How I’m trying to turn crickets into clicks

Lately, I’ve been refining (pun intended 😄) my site to make it more appealing and user-friendly. Here’s what I’ve focused on so far:

👀Making the UI more interactive and engaging

🔃Ensuring responsive design across all devices (especially mobile)

⬆️Improving both the quantity and quality of content

But let’s be honest—none of that matters if no one sees it.

Right now, the site gets about 30–50 visitors per week, and the average session lasts about 5 seconds. So clearly, I’ve got two main problems: visibility and value. People either aren’t finding the site, or they don’t find it compelling enough to stick around.

So, I’ve been going all-in on SEO optimization. Here's what I’ve done so far:

👉 Keyword Optimization – Identified high-intent, low-competition keywords relevant and incorporated them into headings, content, and metadata.

👉 Meta Tags + Open Graph Tags – Meta titles and descriptions for each page to improve CTR in search results

👉 Semantic HTML – Restructured pages using proper HTML5 tags (<main>, <article>, <section>, etc.) to help search engines understand the hierarchy and meaning of content.

👉 Alt Text for Images – Added descriptive alt text to all relevant images, improving both accessibility and image SEO.

👉 Internal Linking – Cross-linked key pages and blog posts to increase dwell time and help search engines crawl the site more effectively.

👉 Mobile-Friendliness – Ensured every page looks clean and functions well on mobile, passing Google's mobile usability checks.

👉 Sitemap + Robots.txt (in progress) – Slowly working on this

👉 Backlink Building (in progress) – Slowly working on getting organic backlinks by sharing posts on Reddit, IndieHackers, X, and more.

I also launched a blog section to house the articles I’ve been writing. The goal is two-fold:

  • Provide real value to visitors

  • Boost SEO rankings by adding fresh, keyword-rich content

Basically, trying to kill two SEO birds with one stone.

If you’ve got a moment, I’d love for you to check out the site and share any feedback! Your insights would be super valuable as I keep iterating.

Lastly—how did you improve SEO for your own project? Any underrated or game-changing tactics you’d recommend?

Let’s help each other grow 🚀

What do you think about the website's "Resume" on the landing page? I thought it was a pretty neat idea, but looking for feedback.
