Servd.host - Landing Page Feedback

Hi IH,

I'm pretty happy with the landing page for Servd (a SaaS hosting platform for Craft CMS websites) but I'd love to hear any suggestions for improvements that anyone might have.

It's currently in private beta and will be moving to open beta soon.

I'm specifically interested in your impressions of:

  • What problem(s) the service solves
  • Whether the tone of voice works (it's quite friendly)
  • If there's anything missing that might help with understanding or trust
  • Anything else that comes to mind!

Edit: For those who haven't come across Craft CMS before, it's a fast growing CMS platform which are lot of digital agencies are picking up as a replacement for Wordpress: https://craftcms.com/

    Lovely looking site, exactly what a landing page should clear and concise.

    Not sure if still an issue but i do see a demo video above the fold

    Looks great! I don't know what craft is, but I'm assuming those who do will find this message to be clear and to the point.

    I want to start by saying that I have never hard of Craft before, but I understand that you offer hosting specifically for that CMS.

    About design:

    • Looks nice a simple, maybe a bit too simple.
    • Bug? There is a big empty box above the fold (between sign-up button and You'll love it because).
    • I have no idea what the "Open" link in the navbar links to or what does it mean, "Open" is a very generic word.
    • There is no "Pricing" link in the navbar, which is usually the most clicked link.
    • Personally I am not a big fan of the color pallete, the green of the buttons is a bit too strong for my eyes.

    Not being familiar with Craft, I don't understand the pricing, why would I pay $35 for hosting when I can get (generic) hosting for $5 or $10, also reading in the FAQ that the Craft license is not included.

    As a conclusion: it's a good start, but I am probably not in your target audience so I find the current landing page to lack more information on why I would choose your service over some other cheaper generic hosting.

      Thanks for the feedback - the gap above the fold is supposed to be a demo video, I guess the encoding is a bit off so it isn't displaying for you. I'd best drop a webm version in there...

        I am using latest Chrome, version 79, on Windows 10.

        LE: The problem is actually the permission, the video is not public, I get 403 Forbidden trying to access: https://cdn.assets-servd.host/relieved-tarantula/production/servd-demo.mp4

          Seems to be a geo issue as I can recreate when I'm connected to certain VPN edge nodes and not others. Thanks for the heads up!
