Service for testing candidates for Data science positions

πŸ‘‹ Indie hackers!
Several days ago I came across a company workera ai . It provides tests to assess DS related skills and after the assessment, a person can apply to a position in a partner company.

I come up with a slightly different idea: a web service to conduct the initial assessment of tech skills before an onsite interview.

I see it in this wayπŸ‘‡
This is a web service that has 2 types of users.

  1. A company employee who is hiring. He is able to create tests in the service's constructor and see test results for all applicants.
  2. A job seeker. He will receive a link to the test and after passing will see his scores.

Workflow

  1. HR choose skills that should be assessed (e.g. Python, SQL, ML algorithms)
  2. The test is generated using a predefined set of questions.
  3. HR send a link to the test to a job seeker.
  4. If the job seeker passes threshold he will proceed to the next interview step.

Target audience

  1. A company that has a lot of applications for a position (e.g. because of a good HR brand like Google).
  2. A company that doesn't have in-house employees to test specific skills (e.g. a small start-up)
  3. HR agencies.

Similar approaches

  1. workera ai - already explained
  2. leetcode com - only algorithmic tasks
  3. A company creates initial technical question by itself (e.g. https://apply.workable.com/komoot/j/6DBCE9EB36/apply/?success - you can't apply for the position if you don't answer to the questions)

I'm not an expert in hiring, so If anybody has experience in hiring for technical positions (ideally for DS) please tell me what do you think about this idea?
