Set up a ghost blog. Any proficient bloggers around?
I set up my blog @ https://www.andreigaspar.com/ with Ghost, and I enjoy the product a lot.
I haven't been writing consistently for years - last time I was blogging Wordpress was still considered the hot new thing.
Can you give me some advice on how to approach this in 2019? Any tips and tricks from proficient bloggers is appreciated. Thanks!
I've taken four different blogs to at least 10k readers/month, so I'd consider my blogging moderately proficient.
A lot has changed since 2005, when WP was the hot new thing. A lot more has stayed the same.
If you want traffic, have a site map, appropriate metadata, etc, but more important is to write something of value to people and give them a way to subscribe via email.
Part of "something of value" is based on what else is available. If no guide or no good guide exists for something, then writing one has a great deal of value to the internet. If there are already a ton of them, then one more isn't contributing much unless you have a different take than the others.
Blogs without an audience related goal can be very valuable, too. In the long run, I've probably gotten more out of my more personal journal than my more externally focused blogs.

I was also thinking about treating it as a personal journal, as opposed to defining a target audience and treating it as a business. I'm not sure if I would be able to enjoy the process, it would turn into just another responsibility.
