      Solid pitch. Very clear.

      1. 1

thanks Griffin, that's good to hear!

    2. 2

Great pitch @markosaric, it's really hard to combine key features in a single sentence but you've managed to do it beautifully.

I think Plausible is a great idea based on the current concerns within the industry.

        thanks Jay, appreciate that!

Just missed your pitch. Nice pitch. Well explained. To the point.👏👏

    4. 1

      Hi.
      Am new to Indie Hackers.
But took a look at your pitch:
      Just a friendly feedback here,
Considered keeping it more simple? As per below:-

Built an app but not sure how to price? Let us help you with pricing @ the same time save thousands of dollars from hiring a team of data scientist.

      Learn more below
      (Insert link here)

A lot of people is not aware of the the whole A/B test. And consumers rarely care about process. This is just my own 2 cents.

However, love the product. Excellent concept. Look forward to hearing more. Good luck!

      1. 1

        Thanks, really appreciate your feedback!
This confirms to me that especially the second sentence might not be simple enough. Though I decided to go for this pitch because I like it to be more concrete, I will figure something out :)

        1. 1

Hey, we all wanna be able to create / write a product that will benefit million/billions of people, luckily we, having lived majority of our lifes online, we are able to see the picture from a different place. I'm still not sure about my elevator pitch but if you have the time... Take a look.

          Easyeat.ai

          1. 1

sure, I can have a look, but I couldn't find it anywhere 🤔
Your link just takes me to your webpage and not the elevator pitch.

            1. 2

As per what I said, I am not fully prepared with my elevator pitch. But:-

"We are working on a way to transform restaurants into a tech companies. Contactless menu, Contactless ordering and contactless payment. Book your Demo with us!."

  4. 3

Siteoly helps you build websites from Google Sheets without writing any code at all. Just plug your data, select the design and you are good to go.

    https://siteoly.com

Thats like you bring raw vegetables, select dish from the menu and have your dinner without knowing cooking at all.

(Can't be more creative than this for an elevator pitch ) 😉😉

Siteoly - The fastest way to build websites from Google Sheets

    1. 4

      I love the analogy! :D

Maybe try to make the pain more clear, like "Want to build a website, but don't know how to code? [...]" That way your approach might feel more personal.
And add a call to action. Always add a call to action! "Try Siteoly for free: link" ;)

      1. 1

"Want to build a website, but don't know how to code? [...]"

Yeah, thats a better elevator pitch!! Just added the link now.

        1. 1

          Glad I could help :)
Would love any feedback on my pitch as well :)

    BuildFaster.co

BuildFaster sells premium HTML templates for coders of any level to use in their next website or landing page.

    1. 4

Is this a marketplace? Or just a place to buy templates? What's the benefit of buying a template? Is it better than I could do, come with advanced features, less expensive than the competition, a better value than spending my own time on it, designed by leading designers, etc?

      1. 3

No, it is not a marketplace. I create HTML templates and sell them through Gumroad. It is only HTML/CSS (pre processor is Sass) and it is easy to build off of. It will save you a lot of time when building a static landing page/website. If you try finding a different solution without a template to use, you won’t be saving as much time as you would’ve been before.

Noctopus - $499/mo and I'll be your CTO

    I will:

    • Mentor you or junior devs in JS
    • Help make tech stack decisions
    • Help make tech hiring decisions
    • Advise on scaling/architecture/features/etc
    1. 2

For $499/mo I think it would be important to include the amount of time your going to be committing each month to doing all those tasks. I think for $6k/yr to do all of that is underpriced by thousands.

      1. 2

Elevator pitch of course, so short on details!

It's all asynchronous, using YAC. You and junior devs would have access to me like in a Slack if Slack were voice-based. Also, up to 2 hours of screensharing per month.

        1. 2

Ah ok, never used Yac but that sounds cool. So it's remote consulting in a lot of ways where $499/month is the retainer and includes those tasks + 2 hours screen share, and then I'm assuming there's some sort of hourly rate when clients need more help?

          1. 2

Exactly! $499/mo is basically a loss leader to have eventual upsells as they need more services. 🙂 You nailed it. The benefit of becoming their go-to expert

Pitch makes sense to me. It seems like a slightly different business model and format of the Remotists newsletter from @filvdg that I just learned about today.

Noticed a small typo under the After Remote Leaf title, "Now you can extra time".

Definitely a lot of competition in this space right now so having a salient differentiator is big. What's stopping someone from just subscribing to these different remote job newsletters, scraping the listings, and then aggregating them and repackaging them?

      1. 1

@abinaya , i feel sorry about this situation , it looks like we will be competing in the same space. if you wish to talk , always open to discuss.

        1. 1

I'm not sure what we are discussing here.. I've been running Remote Leaf since 2017 and with the same business model. I've been following @shv_prbhkrn since he started working on Remotists earlier this year.
We have had exchanged some discussion about the stats and also remote job boards.

My first Indiehackers Milestone -> https://www.indiehackers.com/product/remote-leaf/got-my-first-customer-on-the-life-time-plan--Lz6IRxxlBivQ5LU-s4d

What's stopping someone from just subscribing to these different remote job newsletters, scraping the listings, and then aggregating them and repackaging them?

This can be done by anybody. All the data is available on the internet for free. But people need passion to do this. Right now Remote Leaf has more than 1700 users(paying & free users) and all of them are happy customers. I'm happy that I'm saving a good amount of time for them. I'm hearing a couple of success stories in a week. Which encourages me to continue to do this.

In the last couple of months, I had to stay away from public channels so I can focus on improving the product and flow. Now I've almost completed and working on the last few challenges.. maybe I can start sharing the stories soon.

          1. 2

You are right, people can do a lot of stuff , but if they will do it , and continue to do it with passion is another ballgame. I checked your posts and your twitter. You have been bootstrapping this from the start with lots of manual work, thats a huge achievement. Lots of respect. This market is huge, everybody will have his space, wish you the best of luck.

            1. 1

Thank you, good luck with Remotists. 👍

Japanese Complete is the place to go to master Japanese. Attain a mental model of the Japanese grammar through generous English context, remember kanji glyphs by their meanings through etymology and mnemonics, and ultimately achieve a level of fluency rivaling that of a native.

    https://japanesecomplete.com/

    1. 2

Tell me how you're different than others. I feel that elevator pitch could apply to any Japanese language school.

      1. 1

The Japanese Complete curriculum is based on a Frequency Analysis of modern Japanese from 2011, so every chapter is tangibly getting one closer to fluency in the most efficient way possible.

Compose Sentences visually with Wag that ensures sentences are grammatically correct.

Listen to real Japanese stories line-by-line with our Audio Reading Tutor.

Pass the drills to move from chapter to chapter, our quiz cards keep you honest, unlike SRS systems which simply ask you to report how well you remembered it.

Learn Japanese with our particles-first approach, that stresses teaching the hardest part of Japanese first: grammar.

Research shows that for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year students grammar is the hardest thing to master. In Japanese Complete, our expert teachers break down the trickiest of concepts into easy-to-understand parts. The quizzes after each chapter ensure you understood the material, and the cumulative daily quiz is the best way to review and stay sharp.

Included with membership is a monthly tutoring appointment to help learners get the maximum benefit from the lessons and create a solid foundation for fluency.

        1. 2

Excellent. Now knock that down to an elevator pitch.

"Reduce your time to Japanese fluency by XX% when you practice composing sentences with Wag, listen to real Japanese stories, utilize our quiz cards, ..."

          1. 1

            Thanks for your help.
What do you think of this then:

"Attain Japanese fluency more efficiently and more rapidly than any other system, with a curriculum based on frequency, sentence composition tools, real Japanese stories, student-language™ translations, etymological origins and drawing practice for kanji, and the most down-to-earth lessons written by bilingual and trilingual teachers, all packed in a way to help you conquer the quizzes daily and really feel like you are making meaningful progress. "

We find that many learners have tried other systems to no avail and they appreciate the radical new approach we are taking.

            1. 1

Tighten it up just a bit more. I feel like you're in love with your product (which is great!) and want to tell the end user about every detail up front. Try...

"Our radical new approach has helped hundreds of learners reach Japanese fluency more rapidly than any other system. Student-language™ translations, etymological origins, and sensible lessons written by bilingual language experts will have you easily conversing in the streets of Japan in no time."

Hook them first and then find a way to lead them into more information later. You can do this further along in your website, during your onboarding process, through blog posts, in videos and demonstrations, and dozens of other ways. But, you have to get them to want to read/watch those things. If you start off giving them those things up front they don't feel any pain or have any excitement for your product over another Japanese learning program.

By the way, it's completely normal to throw all the information at them up front when its your product. You know it in and out. You know all the dozens of ways that you've tailored your product to make it unique.

But because you're passionate about teaching Japanese and about your project you converse from that standpoint (I find myself doing the same for my product). But, you need to assume your audience is ambivalent about your products and hype them up accordingly.

Tired of having 30+ tabs open? Don't know what to do with your open tabs after you've finished work or are switching tasks? Try Partizion, the easy tab manager.

    https://www.partizion.io/

    1. 2

I'd try to find a way to amp up the pain in your elevator pitch -- I can truthfully answer "no" to your questions. Instead, tell me why I should be tired of it.

"30 open tabs = 29 distractions from the work you should be doing. Group tabs by task to minimize the temptation and stay productive with Partizion."

Additionally, I'd try to reposition yourself away from tab managers to set yourself apart as something new.

Excellent homepage! The .gifs make the functionality easily discernible without having to read at all.

      1. 1

Great feedback! Thank you, I can use this to adjust the pitch + copy writing.

Regarding positioning away from tab managers, can you elaborate on why? Are tab managers bad or uninteresting? Or is it another reason?

Cheers, I plan on adding more gifs in the future, they just take forever to make. But I'm glad it helped.

Let me know if you try it out! I'd love to know your thoughts.

        1. 1

          No problem, glad to help.

As for moving away from the tab managers category, it's generally a good idea to carve out a niche for which your product has little to no competition (do a quick search for Peter Theil's "Competition is for losers").

I just did a quick search for "tab manager" and found three articles on the front page that list 14-23 products that are tab managers. It's difficult to stand out in a crowd like that so do the best you can to creatively reposition yourself.

          Some ideas:

          1. Find a few other IH'ers with browser apps and package your products together.
          2. Build another browser app that somehow leverages the basic premise of a tab manager and combines the two. I just looked at the Chrome Extension store and saw something about reporting metrics on the front page. Maybe make some analytics that show how long the person spent in each tab or group of tabs. Tracking time spent on each app on phones these days is a trendy thing! That was 60 seconds of brainstorming on my part, I'm sure you can think of something better.
          3. Find a unique set of problem your browser tab solves and just change the marketing...no coding required. "Tab manager, bulk bookmark launcher, and focus mode enabler...all in one!" Or whatever.

I'm definitely not your target market. I keep at most 5 tabs open at any given time and have never looked into tab managers. 😄

    2. 1

You nailed the opening line. But then you lost me at "easy tab manager".

    3. 1

Hm, the app seems neat, but a lot of the features you mention on your landing page are "stickier" to me than "Don't know what to do with your open tabs after you've finished work or are switching tasks?" Especially since the headers on your landing page give me solid benefits/reasons to try Partizion, but that pitch just kinda leaves me thinking "Yeah, but what does it DO?"

      1. 1

Hey Dan, thanks for the feedback! So, stay away from questions and focus on what Partizion can do?

        1. 1

Questions aren't bad, but they should really entice you to want to go and find out. Like the classic news headlines, "Will chihuahuas eat your baby? Find out at 11!"

If your product is aiming at developers your title and copy are great, but if you want to target everybody out there, don't use words like API!

Also, I believe it's Instagram Feed (without the S)!

      1. 2

Right now it's totally dev-focused. I'm building an easy drop-in widget, and when that's released I'll have to update my messaging.

Also, thanks for the feedback about feed/s! I went back and forth on that, haha. I think you're right, this is a little more awkward sounding.

      The idea sounds nice :)
Try to make the pain point more clear, what differentiates the makerstack club from other communities. And call for action!
"Start connecting now: link" or something along those lines :)

Spent a lot of time on getting feedback, but would still appreciate any additional one.

Basically, Zero to Users is a mini-book that answers the question: "Which Acquisition Channels do Consistently Work for Founders?".

Feedback on your elevator pitch: Try to get us more exited, but I think you know that yourself ;)

Feedback to your study: I think it's really interesting, would love the opportunity to have an option to filter the information more easy on your website. For example, I guess that B2B services behave differently than B2C.
      Anyway I signed up:)

Clear enough. In fact, that led me to visit your landing page and submit my email.

@getflookup - the answer to growing flookup lies in your data

have you gleaned any insights from google analytics lately? if so, what are they?
